To get the ball rolling all you have to do is pop the back off of the machine, take the plastic seal off of the CO cartridge, slide the CO cartridge thru the bottom of the unit and screw it in to the soda machine until tight. Pop the back of the soda maker on. Take the water bottle fill it with water to the water line. Put it in the soda maker so the CO spigot is in the water and the clear plastic lever is pushed. There is a button on top of the machine that you push to shoot the Carbon into the water. Three times for mild sparkle, five times for lots of sparkle. I got a little carried away and pushed it a few extra times to see how it worked and it amazed me that with the simple push of a button you have sparkling water.
