18 Of The Best New And Returning Shows Coming In January

I absolutely cannot wait to have Zendaya back on my screen for Euphoria Season 2.

1. Euphoria, Season 2

Euphoria is back, baby! After almost two years since the first season, our favorite teen drama returns, and it looks juicier than ever. This time around, Rue is still struggling with maintaining her sobriety, and that leads her to fall into some messy situations with some bad people. We can be sure to expect standout performances from Zendaya and Hunter Schafer, along with the rest of this phenomenal cast. Oh, and there will be a TON of glitter too.

2. How I Met Your Father

Hilary Duff stars as Sophie in How I Met Your Father, a sequel series to the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. It follows the same structure as the original where future Sophie flashes back to present-day 2021 and recounts the story of how she met the father of her son. Kim Cattrall also lends her voice as future Sophie.

3. Black-ish, Season 8

Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end — including incredible shows like Black-ish. After eight seasons of ups, downs, and all-arounds it's time to say goodbye to our favorite TV family, for now. This final season is pulling out all the stops, even a special guest appearance from Michelle Obama (!!!!!).

4. Ozark, Season 4

The fourth and final season of Ozark is almost here, and things are heating up. As Marty and Wendy climb their way to the top of Navarro's empire, they find a way out of the Ozarks, and all the madness their family has endured. But of course, their past will come back to haunt them, and blood will be spilled.

5. The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window

Kristen Bell stars in this parody series based on movies like The Girl on the Train and The Woman in the Window. The show focuses on Kristen's character, Anna, whose mundane life turns upside down when she witnesses her hot new neighbor brutally murder someone...or so she thinks. Everything is not what it seems, and this satirical thriller genre will keep you guessing everything you know up until the last second.

6. The Afterparty

The Afterparty is about a detective, played by Tiffany Haddish, who's called to duty once someone is brutally murdered at an afterparty for a high school reunion. Her job is to figure out exactly who did it, even though her suspects have wildly different accounts of the night beforehand. This show stars some of the funniest people alive, so it's bound to be a riot and keep you engaged the entire time. What's better than great jokes and murder? Nothing.

7. Single Drunk Female

Samantha Fink is a twentysomething alcoholic who is forced to sober up or else she'll end up in jail. In hopes of setting her life on the right-ish track, she moves back home to Boston to live with her overbearing mother, Carol. As she readjusts to life in her hometown, she's thrust back into the toxic atmosphere that caused her life to fall apart in the first place. Sofia Black-D’Elia is a total onscreen darling — I dare you not to fall in love with her even a little bit.

8. As We See It

As We See It is a new series from Jason Katims, who's best known for creating shows like Friday Night Lights, Roswell, and Parenthood. It follows three roommates on the autism spectrum as they navigate their love lives, finding jobs, making friends, and existing in a world that isn't always so kind to people with autism. Actors Rick Glassman, Sue Ann Pien, and Albert Rutecki all identify as living on the autism spectrum and tell their story in the most realistic way TV has ever seen.

9. Peacemaker

John Cena reprises his role as Peacemaker in this The Suicide Squad spinoff series. This show revolves around the origins of Peacemaker and why he's so determined to achieve peace, no matter the cost. Plus, we even get the privilege of falling in love with his crime-fighting mission squad too.

10. Women of the Movement

Adrienne Warren stars as Mamie Till Mobley, an activist, educator, and mother who fought for justice for her son Emmett Till after his horrific murder in 1955.  Mamie's involvement in the civil rights movement sets the basis of this limited series, and Adrienne's performance leaves a lasting impact on every viewer. Women of the Movement is necessary viewing for every American.

11. The Gilded Age

This series follows scions and socialites from New York City's boom years, otherwise known as the Gilded Age. It's about a young man who's eager to infiltrate a neighboring family and a young woman eager to make a name for herself, while their judgmental, conservative aunts provide almost no support. The Gilded Age is all about the war between old money aristocrats and the new money clans, who are just beginning to plant roots of their own. This one also comes from the creator of Downton Abbey.

12. The Cleaning Lady

Based on the Argentinian series La Chica Que Limpia, this series follows Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian doctor whose son is diagnosed with a rare immune disorder. After leaving her husband in the Philippines, Thony rushes to the United States to receive treatment for her son. Then, when her son's only bone marrow donor backs out and Thony's visa expires, she's left with no choice but to stay in Las Vegas and work as a cleaning lady. And if you thought that was a lot, just wait for the kicker: After she accidentally witnesses a terrible murder, Thony is hired by a mobster to "clean" all the evidence of their crimes. It's a real doozy, I know, but that's just what makes it even more worth your time.

13. Pivoting

14. This Is Us, Season 6

After five seasons of falling in love with the Pearson family, This Is Us returns with one final chapter and loads more tears. The Big Three are turning 41 this year, Kevin is still recovering from the aftermath of calling off his wedding, and Rebecca is struggling with losing her memory. This 18-episode season will wrap up with so many heartfelt and heartbreaking moments, but, luckily, it's one that fans will truly never forget.

17. Naomi
