As of July 10, 2022, there exists three Hemsworth brothers: Liam, Chris, and Luke.
Of course, you know that Chris Hemsworth plays Thor in the MCU. You probably saw Thor: Love and Thunder this weekend, or maybe you have plans to soon.
But you probably didn't know that Liam Hemsworth was also in the running to play Thor — and according to Chris, he almost got the gig.
"My little brother almost got cast as Thor," Chris revealed in an interview with MensXP.
Chris also talked about how he almost didn't nab his iconic role in an interview with Wired.
“I think my audition sucked. I think that was the response I got,” he recalled, before mentioning that Liam ended up being one of the "last five people" in consideration for the role.
“They were like, ‘Look, he’s great, but he’s a bit young,’" he explained on what ultimately kept Liam from getting the role. "My manager then said, ‘Well, he does have an older brother,’ which was me.”
“I came back in, re-auditioned a few times, and just had a different attitude. Maybe I had a little more sort of motivation that my little brother got a look in and I hadn’t.”
Chris also told MensXP that the MCU's current multiverse meddling could — but, as of now, probably won't — make for Liam finally making his big-screen debut as Thor at some point.
“He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part so, I don’t know, I could cross paths with him," he said. "That will be fun." Why not?
