Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes proclaimed his support for marriage equality at the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day on Sunday.

The former Cold Chisel frontman spoke to lobby group Australian Marriage Equality, leaving a voice message in favour of same-sex marriage as part of the 'Equality Calling' campaign.
Samesame.com.au reported that Barnes described marriage equality as "a basic human rights issue" and "something that should be a reality".
He also gave the 'Equality Calling' campaign a ringing endorsement, encouraging people to leave messages for their local MPs and Senators, urging them to support marriage equality.
Barnesy hung out in the Australian Marriage Equality rainbow phone booth, posed for photos and chatted to fans.
