On Jan. 19, Josh Radnor stopped by HuffPost Live to discuss his new show, Mercy Street. But of course he also talked about the main reason we all hold him near and dear to our hearts: How I Met Your Mother.
When the host asked Radnor what he thought of fan's reactions to the show's ending in 2014, the actor said, "I think it's been overstated, people's disappointment with it."
"If Ted and Tracy walked off into the sunset together, I think people would have called it a soft or sentimental ending, or that it was a fairy tale," he said.
"But something about How I Met Your Mother was, it always upended your expectations, it always made you cry, it always was not what you thought it was. So I think it was in keeping with the DNA for the show."
As for what Radnor thought about the series finale himself, the actor was happy with how it all ended.
"I really loved it," Radnor said. "There were a couple of scenes that got cut for time that I thought would've helped, but I think it was terrific."
