Everyone on Team Dean, Jess, and Logan finally gets some answers. (Warning: LOTS of spoilers ahead!)
Even though they've apparently been dating for two years, Rory doesn't see much of Paul since she’s rarely home due to work-related travel.
The two traipse around London and seemingly have the same kind of fun they once did in their younger years, but there's one catch: Logan's also engaged to someone else. Odette, his fiancé, lives in Paris. For the first two episodes of A Year in the Life, Lorelai isn’t even aware of Rory and Logan's rendezvous. But, to quote Rory, when she and Logan “are together, they’re together, and when they’re not, they’re not.” But it's clear Rory still leans on Logan for emotional support and adventure.
While doing research for a GQ article, Rory roams the streets of New York and interviews people who stand in long lines for different phenomenons. While standing in line at a comic book store, Rory spends a lot of time with one group of line-dwellers, goes to a bar afterward, and has sex with a guy dressed up as a Wookiee.
"You should write a book, and I know what you should write. You should write about you and your mom. It's a cool story, it's got a point of view, and it's something only you can write," he says. Suddenly, a lightbulb goes off in Rory’s head and she’s sure about her next move.
What's unsaid in that moment is more relevant and poignant than any words they could've actually said to each other.
"That you were, umm, generous, and protective and kind and strong," Rory continues. "That as much as I wish we'd met when I was older and more mature, I know that if I hadn't had you with me when I did, I wouldn't be the person I am today — that you taught me what safe feels like."
D’awwww.
Especially since it’s implied that the baby is Logan’s.
