21 Struggles All People Pleasers Know To Be True

You do a lot of favors. A lot.

    1. When asked to give a dollar to a charity at the grocery store checkout... you're either gonna give a dollar or feel REALLY badly about not doing it.

    2. When someone asks you for a ride, and it's way out of your way:

    3. In fact, you can get to the airport without a map, you've given so many rides there.

    4. When you are stuck in a conversation with someone out of politeness (which is often):

    5. You have helped everyone move. Literally everyone.

    6. Look, you can't walk past a box of puppies who are up for adoption. You just can't.

    7. You either are, or probably will be, a bridesmaid or groomsman in eight different weddings.

    8. Present you is really good at saying you'll do stuff that future you does NOT want to do.

    9. Even if you don't want to do anything over the weekend... you're still triple booked for every day.

    10. When you're stuffed to death, but your sweet grandma made a pie for dessert... you're eating the damn pie.

    11. You a little bit dread the question: "Are you coming to my [ladies night/bar crawl/birthday party/improv show]?"

    12. You are always the roommate who unloads the dishwasher and takes out the trash.

    13. Whenever anyone asks "Do you mind if we do [blank], first?" your answer is always yes.

    14. You've been the designated driver so many times, you've thought about putting it on your resume.

    15. Someone wants to split some fries/dessert/a cab? You're saying yes to that.

    16. Whenever everyone tries to sell you something, it can take awhile to muster up the gumption to say "No, thanks."

    17. It is impossible for you to not answer an email, a text, or an IM right NOW.

    18. FOMO is more or less a fact of life.

    19. You have definitely spent $$$ on tickets to a thing just because someone asked you to.

    20. "We only need one more volunteer!" is usually your cue to go find a good hiding spot.

    21. You tell yourself that this is the last time you volunteer to host a dinner/babysit/run errands. You know for a fact it isn't.

Whatevs, this is just what you get for being a competent adult.
