Watching Chrissy Teigen And John Legend Trade Banana Bread For Lettuce During This Pandemic Is The Funny Content We Need Right Now

"John is not happy I’m trading it. Would you accept half a banana bread?"

If you need a little Chrissy Teigen story to brighten your day, this is a good one.

It all started earlier this week when Chrissy needed some romaine lettuce, so she took to Twitter to ask.

I’ll make a banana bread for anyone that has romaine lettuce. The trade will be made 6 feet apart and we will place the goods on the floor. no funny business

This isn't the first time Chrissy has asked the internet for food. A few years ago, someone gave her browning bananas to make bread.

Anyway, Twitter user @ChrisKlemens (who also happens to be a famous YouTuber) had lettuce he was willing to barter for Chrissy's homemade banana bread.

@chrissyteigen I have three studio city

But Chrissy's a smart girl who wasn't about to be screwed out of some lettuce, so she asked for proof that the photo was recent.

how do I know this isn’t an old pic of u an romaine, hold up something timely https://t.co/B9BUAuJ488

After a quick video showing the time and date on his watch, Chrissy believed him.

Ok Chris. I trust you. Let me make this bread and I’ll be in your area tomorrow early afternoon!! https://t.co/tavQQfgWMv

So, all was well and Chrissy was about to start making some banana bread for the exchange...

...until John got wind of the deal.

Crap @ChrisKlemens I only have enough for one banana bread and john is not happy I’m trading it. Would you accept half a banana bread? please ... my family. Have mercy on us

Chrissy asked if half a banana bread plus a slice of pie would be an even trade.

And because no one wants to get in a fight with John Legend, the deal was accepted.

@chrissyteigen Am I... fighting with John Legend over banana bread?? Lmfao yes that is fine

Chrissy then made her banana bread and JOHN WAS LOVING IT:

Fast forward to the next day, when Chrissy and John headed to a local church in Studio City to make the exchange.

But — as you all know — we are in a pandemic right now, so John and Chrissy had to get crafty with how they were going to trade the goods six feet apart. This is what they came up with:

I love this pic of John so much.

And I also really want to know if Luna and Miles gave approval for their car to be used in this way.

Either way, the loot was exchanged and Chrissy even threw in a bottle of wine! I love this so much.

Thank you all for your unwavering support over the course of this saga. We made it @chrissyteigen.

This is the type of wholesome content we need right now. Thanks for the entertainment, Chrissy and John.
