I started searching five-minute makeup tutorials on Pinterest and I came across tons specifically geared towards moms. I'm a mom, so naturally, I had to check them out.

Maybe it's the cookies on my computer that is populating "mom" stuff... BUT whether it was "mom" or not, every tutorial basically used the same steps, just with different makeup. I decided to try it out using cheap Drugstore makeup because my "makeup budget" goes to babysitters. 😜

Step One: BB Cream

Guys, don't make fun of me, but I just found out what BB cream was about two months ago when some coworkers were talking about it. Apparently it evens out skin tone. And, apparently, there is CC cream, too, and Google says they are the same thing.

In some makeup tutorials, they were mixing their BB cream with their foundation. Since I was being lazy and no unwanted zits decided to show up that day, I used the BB cream alone. I used Revlon Photoready BB Cream in Medium.

Also, I used my fingers to apply it (after washing off the Doritos cheese dust off them, of course). I'm going to assume most beauty experts would tell you to use some sort of sponge, IDK.

Time: Literally 10 seconds

Step Two: Concealer

This threw me for a loop. When I’ve actually used concealer in the past, I’ve always applied the concealer before the foundation. TOTAL WASTE OF CONCEALER. Anyways, I opted for the Revlon brand again (Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener), but this time I used a sponge to blend it! BE PROUD OF ME.

Most tutorials say you should place concealer under your eyes, above your lip, and really anywhere you see discoloration and/or blemishes.

Time: 45 seconds

Step Three: Setting Powder

To help set your makeup and keep it in place, you should apply a powder next. I used Maybelline’s FIT Me Powder – Set + Smooth (in shade 220, Natural Beige). It came with a soft circular applicator that worked great. I really thought the coverage on this was pretty amazing as well.

Time: 40 seconds

Step Four: Bronzer and Blush

Bronzer is literally my go-to makeup. I've used all different kinds. This time I used a bronzer and blush from Maybeline because Ulta had "buy one get one 50% off" deal. It's part of the "FIT me" line (like the powder), and I got the blush in Deep Rose and the bronzer in Medium Bronze. I used a blush brush to apply the bronzer around the perimeter of my face and down my neck to blend. I then "sucked in" my cheeks at an attempt to contour my cheekbones. Then I went a little overboard and just started applying bronzer wherever I thought it looked good. I finished off with the blush on the apples of my cheeks.

Time: 35 seconds

Step Five: Eyebrows

Growing up I always HATED my eyebrows because I could never get them to arch. But, a while back, I discovered this lightener and brow fiber gel by Hard Candy and it was a game changer. I love that it has a highlighter to use under your brows to help define them. The gel darkens and keeps your brows in place.

Step Six: Eyeshadow, Eyeliner and Mascara

Against everything I've ever been told, I put my eyeliner on first. I'm dreadful at putting on eyeliner, so I love the fact that putting eyeshadow on over it helps cover up and blend any uneven lines. I used Two Timer by NYX (it has a pencil liner on one side and a felt tip on the other).

Next, I did my eyeshadow. The only reason I used Lancôme eyeshadow is because it was a free gift my mom had gotten and gave to me a LONG time ago. It's probably expired. In fact, it’s so worn out the sticker on the back that says what color it is has entirely rubbed off. I really think you can use any eyeshadow of your choice, though. I don't really have a special way of applying eyeshadow, I just try to put the light colors toward the inner part of the eye and blend the darker shades on the outer. I'm sure y'all are better than me, so just keep doing what you're doing.

Lastly, I put on mascara. I will be honest. The mascara I am using was bought at a Dollar Store a while back when I was out of town and I haven't had time to replace it yet. It is working just fine, though, and if you're really curious it is called "abracadabra" by She Makeup. I don't curl my lashes, I just apply two coats per eye.

Time: 1 minute

Step Seven: Lips

I'm all about mixing lip shades to get the color you want. Please excuse the makeup stains on these lipsticks, I had a leak in my makeup bag a while back and they got coated. I started with Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick – Snapdragon and applied Revlon Ultra HD Matte Color – Seduction over it.

Time: 45 seconds

There you have it! The end result was definitely worth it. In total, I was able to create this look in less than FIVE MINUTES!
