In number 3, that "cute animal" on the right is not what they mean by "elk" in these areas. It may be a North American elk, but what they call "elk" here is the "alces alces" species, known in North America as a "moose".
The "elk" pictured above appears to be a North American elk. The animal that they call an elk in Finland, Sweden, and Norway is a version of the Alces Alces, referred to in North America as a "moose".
