13 Comedies To Watch If You're Seconds Away From Rewatching "Friends" For The Hundredth Time

It's okay to watch something else from time to time.

I know, Friends is always there for you.

    Clap clap clap clap!

But there are other comedies out there. Broaden those horizons.

    Exploring new shows is fun!

So, here are some other shows that will make you laugh and cry with laughter.

Or sometimes just cry because great comedies can do that, too.

    1. The Bob Newhart Show

Bob Newhart standing in front of a coffee machine as Dr. Robert Hartley

A comedy about trying to live a mentally healthy life in modern society? Aged like fine wine.

    2. Cheers

The "Cheers" gang sits around the bar, laughing

There's "will they/won't they," there's hijinks, there's great times to be found here.

    3. The Comeback

Lisa Kudrow smiles at the camera as Valerie in "The Comeback"

How about a compromise? You can watch one of the Friends cast members in a comedy.

    4. The Dick Van Dyke Show

Mary Tyler Moore and Dick Van Dyke have a conversation in the kitchen as Laura and Rob on "The Dick Van Dyke Show"

    It's a classic for a reason.

    5. Episodes

How about another one of the Friends cast members? They do other things!

    6. Girls5eva

Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps, Sara Bareilles, and Paula Pell having a conversation at "The Tonight Show" as Wickie, Summer, Dawn and Gloria in "Girls5eva"

Girl group making a comeback? Sign me up!

    7. Happy Endings

Damon Wayans Jr., Eliza Coupe, Zachary Knighton, Casey Wilson, Adam Pally, and Elisha Cuthbert sitting on the couch drinking beer as Brad, Jane, Dave, Penny, Max, and Alex on "Happy Endings"

This was gone too soon, and if you watch you'll know why.

    8. Living Single

Erika Alexander, Queen Latifah, Kim Fields, and Kim Coles singing into hair brushes, blow dryers, and other beauty and bathroom products as Max, Khadijah, Regine, and Synclaire on "Living Single"

I mean, legend has it that Friends is rip-off of this show. Might as well watch the original.

    9. The Mary Tyler Moore Show

A landmark show and a very funny one.

    10. New Girl

Hannah Simone, Lamorne Morris, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, and Zooey Deschanel sitting on the couch with glasses of wine in front of them as Cece, Winston, Nick, Schmidt, and Jess on "New Girl"

New Girl is the better than Friends. I said what I said.

    11. Starstruck

Nikesh Patel and Rose Matafeo sitting at a bar as Tom and Jessie on "Starstruck"
    HBO Max

If you want a rom-com, might I suggest this, which is basically Notting Hill with the roles reversed.

    12. Superstore

Ben Feldman and America Ferrera as Jonah and Amy on "Superstore"

One of the best workplace comedies ever. So underrated.

    13. And finally, You're the Worst

Aya Cash, Desmin Borges, Chris Geere, and Kether Donohue sitting on the couch and chatting as Gretchen, Edgar, Jimmy, and Lindsay on "You're the Worst"

The best example of the anti-rom-com.

What other comedies should be added to your viewing experience?
