Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF NBC Whether it's the premise or a gradual evolution, we love the love. You latch on and, through the ups and downs, you hope those two people will be together until the end of time. Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF FOX / Via tenor.com ...or at least until the series finale. But sometimes, love does not last and your heart breaks, but you know that these couples were meant to be. Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF UPN / Via giphy.com OTP for life! Here are some couples that should've ended up together, but alas, were not meant to be. 1. Dan and Blair, Gossip Girl Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF The CW The one healthy couple on the show. Chuck literally sold her for a hotel! Blair and Dan had the banter and a true emotional connection. And I still don't think it was actually possible Dan was Gossip Girl. Ugh! 2. Katara and Zuko, Avatar: The Last Airbender Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF Nickelodeon / Via media.giphy.com They had the opposites attract and enemies to lovers trope right there. These two had so much chemistry and shared pain that built the foundation for a partnership that would have been beautiful to see turn into a full on romantic relationship. But, no, Katara chose someone else. How could she do that with a guy like Zuko around? 3. Caroline and Klaus, The Vampire Diaries Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF The CW Curse you The Originals for being successful. In the grand scheme of both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, these two didn't share that much screentime. But when they did, they were electric and I would've loved to see a courtship and relationship play out, and for the above to be true. 4. Jackson and April, Grey's Anatomy Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF ABC / Via media.giphy.com I mean, they had the interrupt the wedding trope! They were friends-ish first and their love grew over time. Two people who disagreed on a lot of big issues, but still loved each other! At least they're both now in Boston together, so maybe we'll get an update soon on their status. 5. Alicia and Will, The Good Wife Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF CBS They never gave their relationship a real shot at lasting. A lot of this was Alicia resisting divorcing Peter for the whole run of the show, even though they were clearly very different people than they were before the scandal. And then it was too late. 6. Ted and Tracy (The Mother), How I Met Your Mother Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF CBS / Via tenor.com If the show had just ended with Ted and Tracy meeting, with none for the future flash forwards for the gang, it would have been a beautiful ending to one of the funniest and most moving shows on TV. But no, Tracy had to die so Ted could be with Robin. 7. Robin and Barney, How I Met Your Mother Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF CBS / Via media.giphy.com I'm still mad. We invested so much of the show into their relationship and to see it fall apart in only a few minutes was frustrating. If they were gonna fall apart, at least let us have time with it. 8. Spencer and Caleb, Pretty Little Liars Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF Freeform I know this is controversial on a number of levels. But, of all the time jump shenanigans, this one was my favorite because it actually made sense. They had great rapport as friends and in the flashbacks that laid the groundwork for their relationship, it made sense. Who says your high school sweetheart is the one you end up with? 9. Lucas Scott and nobody, One Tree Hill Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF The CW / Via tenor.com Lucas Scott treated every woman he was in a relationship with terribly. Amidst his back and forth between Brooke and Peyton, I started rooting for the two of them to ditch him and ride off into the sunset together. 10. Dean Winchester and happiness, Supernatural Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF The CW / Via tenor.com I know everyone wanted Dean and Castiel to become canon, but I always knew that wouldn't happen. I just wanted to Dean to be happy. And then he died in the finale before getting to truly experience a life of free will. I'm still mad about this. Whose love did you want to stand the test of time?
