May The Force Be With These 20 "Star Wars" Characters In Their Own Disney+ Spinoffs

With The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan on the way at Disney+, these Star Wars characters should also see their adventures continue on the streamer.

1. Greedo

Laugh all you want, but admit it: It would be pretty great to see the pre-New Hope adventures of Greedo, the intergalactic bounty hunter whose dedication to Intimidation comes at the cost of his life. Defined by his menace and his lack of foresight, a Greedo series operating as the all-bark, no-bite anti-Mandalorian could be pretty fun and unique. 

2. Lando Calrissian

Of the numerous highlights in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Donald Glover's take on the young Lando Calrissian undoubtedly stood out as the film's brightest spot. Though Glover still has a commitment to his FX series Atlanta, a limited event series highlighting the extended adventures of Lando prior to his arrival on Cloud City could easily become the most anticipated show on the streaming platform.

3. Wedge Antilles

A Corellian rebel pilot who became a fan favorite in the original Star Wars trilogy, Wedge Antilles has since become one of the more important figures in ancillary franchise materials, including books, graphic novels, and even the Star Wars: Rebels series. With renewed interest in the character following his cameo in Rise of Skywalker and a possible appearance in Rogue Squadron, a Top Gun-esque look into the pilots of the Rebel Alliance could be a fantastic alternative to the grander, more epic stories happening throughout the Star Wars canon.

4. Migs Mayfeld

Bill Burr has unsurprisingly stolen the show in both of his episodes of The Mandalorian while providing the character with unexpected pathos while recalling his traumatic experience in the Imperial Army in his most recent appearance. With Mayfeld now free to roam the Star Wars universe, more adventures in the seedy underbelly of the galaxy with the surly sharpshooter and one-time gang leader would be absolutely welcome.

5. Chewbacca

Now, I know what you're thinking: What would a Chewbacca series even look like? Though his adventures would be largely Han-less, unless Alden Ehrenreich could be enticed for a return of some sort, a Chewbacca anthology series covering his pre-Solo and post-Skywalker adventures could be quite fun, especially given what has been done in the television space with non-traditionally verbal characters such as Primal and Hawkeye.

6. Mace Windu

Though it may be too late to seek a Mace Windu-centric series with Samuel L. Jackson, regardless of the power of de-aging digital technology, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be great to see the adventures of a younger Mace Windu kicking ass all over the galaxy on Disney+.

7. Galen Marek / "Starkiller"

The questionably canonical secret apprentice of Darth Vader in the lauded Force Unleashed video games, Galen Marek (designed after and performed by actor Sam Witwer) is a character many Star Wars fans have hoped to see in a live-action adaptation somehow, some way. With Disney+ delving into the world of alternate canon with the likes of What If...?, it could be time to see Marek make his debut in the Star Wars universe proper.

8. Dash Rendar

For '90s Star Wars nerds, Dash Rendar is a name that comes with a lot of emotional weight, as the rugged, no-BS gun-for-hire operated as the protagonist of the popular Shadows of the Empire as well as myriad Legends publications. With his recent entry into the main Star Wars canon in the Solo tie-in journal Tales From Vandor, Rendar has the potential to become the franchise's next breakout anti-hero on Disney+.

9. Enfys Nest

With Erin Kellyman appearing in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier after her turn in Solo, Enfys Nest must have left an impression with the Walt Disney Company, especially as she was posited in the aforementioned movie as a force to be reckoned with. Though additional Solo films might not come to pass, a Disney+ series following Nest and her roaming band of pirate vigilantes could make for a thrilling Hook-esque spinoff into the wilder side of the Star Wars universe.

10. Rey Skywalker

It's not controversial to say that Rise of Skywalker was a divisive film in Star Wars canon, ultimately disappointing many fans while undercutting the journeys of the new characters introduced in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. However, with Mark Hamill and Temuera Morrison reprising their iconic roles on the Disney+ series, it's not entirely crazy to imagine the streamer offering Daisy Ridley a chance to give Rey a more suitable send-off.

11. Wicket W. Warrick

Although they haven't been given the same love as the Skywalker saga, Caravan of Courage and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor have been celebrated as a solid kid-friendly fare within the Star Wars franchise. Should Disney+ decide to jump back into Endor for a streaming series, it could be very fun to revisit Wicket W. Warrick and his son, Pommet, as they navigate a post-First Order timeline with a greater focus on some of the native, environmental threats.

12. Zorii Bliss

Star Wars fans have been largely torn regarding Star Wars, Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker, but outside of the introduction of Babu Frik, the appearance of Zorii Bliss is widely regarded as one of the high points of the film. A mysterious and criminal figure from Poe Dameron's past, Bliss's future seems almost as mysterious as her origins, which could be a boon to Lucasfilm should they want to explore either avenue through Disney+.

13. Hondo Ohnaka

Another fan favorite in the extended Star Wars universe whose legacy in the main canon was cemented via "Smuggler's Run" at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Hondo Ohnaka has a wealth of backstory and a defined personality from his previous animated appearances, all of which could be mined for future live-action portrayals.

14. Ezra Bridger

The street-wise co-lead of Star Wars: Rebels, Ezra Bridger's final note on the series was one of ambiguity. With Ahsoka hitting Disney+ in 2023, also penned by Dave Filoni, there's a very tangible chance that a live-action depiction of Bridger is incoming. With enough momentum behind the series, a spinoff focusing on Bridger and his distinct contributions to the Star Wars universe is well within the realm of possibility.

15. Cobb Vanth

Effortlessly charming in his Star Wars debut, Timothy Olyphant made an exceptional impression when he brought this Aftermath character to life, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination as a result. While Vanth will likely remain among the rogue's gallery that weaves in and out of Din Djarin's story on The Mandalorian, there is something ultimately appealing about the idea of a Vanth solo series, akin to a galactic Deadwood or the Star Wars equivalent of Brisco County, Jr.

16. Qui-Gon Jinn

Though bringing back Liam Neeson would be anachronistic and fairly implausible with the same conundrum as Mace Windu earlier on this list, a Qui-Gon Jinn origins series could do much in terms of fleshing out the pre-Skywalker years of the Star Wars universe. Beyond this incentive, the fact that Qui-Gon was trained by prequel trilogy villain Count Dooku could offer more insight into that character's eventual turn toward the dark side as well.

17. Captain Phasma

A character that was failed by the constraints of the sequel trilogy, Captain Phasma remains one of the biggest missed opportunities in the Star Wars franchise. Though the character was confirmed to be dead after The Last Jedi, Disney+ could dig into the history of Captain Phasma as she ambitiously rises through the First Order while fleshing out her personality outside of "authoritative lower-tier villain."

18. Chirrut Îmwe

So the possibility of bringing Donnie Yen back into the Star Wars universe is real slim, but it certainly would be awesome. Even if it were for a limited engagement, additional, pre-Rogue One tales of Chirrut Îmwe would immediately become appointment streaming for the many fans of this staff-wielding, butt-kicking hero.

19. Bo-Katan Kryze

Another graduate from the canonical Star Wars animated universe, Bo-Katan Kryze and her band of Mandalorian compatriots immediately set the internet abuzz with their appearance on The Mandalorian. With Sackhoff's performance universally praised and her fanbase rallying behind a solo outing for the character, perhaps a Kryze-centric series can fill the void left by the now-axed Cara Dune spinoff, Rangers of the New Republic.

20. Darth Maul

One of the most iconic Star Wars characters ever and, for some, a gleaming redemption for the faults of the prequel trilogy, Darth Maul was set to make his return to the live-action Star Wars franchise following Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, following controversies surrounding actor Ray Park and the underwhelming box office of Solo, the future of the character remains uncertain. Nevertheless, Darth Maul's adventures can absolutely continue with or without Park, especially if Disney+ aims to boost its subscriber base with a showcase for the Sith villain and his Crimson Dawn syndicate.
