We Want To Know Which Southeast Asian TV Or Movie Character Made You Feel Seen

Still loving Manny Santos like it's 2003.

As someone who's half-Filipino, I was always looking for representation of myself in TV and movies as a kid. Like anyone, I just wanted to see characters like me.

There still isn't a ton of Southeast Asian representation in media, but there's definitely been a few characters who have stood out to me and made me feel represented in recent years.

So we want to know which Southeast Asian characters made you feel seen!

Maybe you're like me and really loved Manny on Degrassi: The Next Generation because she was such a compelling character and it was so great to finally see a Filipino lead on a teen drama.

Perhaps you recently discovered Amphibia and love that Anne's Thai heritage is a major part of the show.

Or maybe you resonated with Emily's storyline on Pretty Little Liars and appreciated having Southeast Asian LGBTQ+ representation.

Tell us which Southeast Asian character in TV or movies made you feel seen and WHY they're important to you. Your response could be featured in a future BuzzFeed Community post!
