People Are Sharing The Toxic TV Characters They Can't Help But Love, And They Make Some Valid Points

Honestly, we'd probably hate them in real life, but they're SO fun to watch.

We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which TV characters they love even though they're honestly terrible people. Here are some of the problematic faves they fell in love with:

Warning: Spoilers ahead, including ones for Season 3 of "You" and "Squid Game"!!!

    1. Jenna from 30 Rock

    NBC / Courtesy Everett Collection

"She’s narcissistic, dramatic, self-centered...and so hilarious!"

    2. Jang Deok-su from Squid Game

"Something about his arrogance and sheer determination to not only survive, but win the whole thing, made the climax of the 101 storyline great."

    3. Barney from How I Met Your Mother

    CBS / Courtesy Everett Collection

"He’s a sexual psychopath, but dammit, I love him."

    4. Gaby from Desperate Housewives

"She’s selfish, self-centered, and had an affair with her teenage gardener. Yet I still liked her more than Susan."

    5. Mona from Pretty Little Liars

"She tortured the other girls for years, but I love the way she can switch from evil to innocent within seconds."

    6. Klaus from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals

    The CW

"He's a terrible person and murdered countless people, but damn, I love him."

    7. Kai from The Vampire Diaries and Legacies

    The CW

"He’s a compete sociopathic murderer, but Chris Wood brought so much charisma to his character that he was hilarious and became a fan favorite."

    8. Blair from Gossip Girl

CW Network / Courtesy Everett Collection

"I would hate her in real life, but she was the only character I could stand on the show. Everyone in the Upper East Side were terrible people, but she was at least self-aware. Plus, she had some of the best one-liners."

    9. Peter from Teen Wolf

"He was sassy, hilarious, and hot. He can have a little murder, as a treat."

    10. Cersei from Game of Thrones

"The fact that she was one of the only major players who didn't have dragons, magic, or assassin skills, couldn't see all the past/present/future, and didn't get raised from the dead, yet still managed to become queen, just made me love her. When she blew up the Sept of Baelor, I actually cheered, and I was totally rooting for her after the Sparrows fiasco. We all know she wasn't as smart as she thought she was, but I can't help but admire how far she got."

    11. Peach from You

"She was such an amazing foil for Joe. I wish she’d been in another season. She and Joe had great chemistry together as enemies."

    12. Love from You

"Yes, she’s evil, but I still cried when she died. Her over Joe any day!"

    13. Fallon from Dynasty

Wilford Harewood / CW Network/ Courtesy Everett Collection

"That girl is utterly selfish, privileged, and just like her horrible father, and yet she's my favorite character. She is ridiculous, a drama queen, and therefore absolutely hilarious. At the end of the day, she has an inherently good heart deep, deep, deep down."

    14. Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Dennis standing by sign: "Could he + would he + should we = answer"

"He's an absolutely horrendous, evil man, but he’s so hilarious and pathetic that I adore him."

    15. Cheryl from Riverdale

    The CW

"I usually hate mean girls, and I don't think I could enjoy anyone else other than Cheryl Blossom saying ridiculous shit like, "Listen up fives, a 10 is speaking." I love her, and she kept me watching Riverdale for way too long."

    16. Mazikeen from Lucifer

"I mean, she's a literal demon, so of course she loves knives, violence, and chaos. But she's also surprisingly sensitive, adores Trixie, and is fiercely protective of her friends. Maze is the best."

    17. Lu from Elite

Manuel Fernandez-valdes / Courtesy Everett Collection / Everett Collection

"She was absolutely horrible to Nadia and pretty much everyone around her in seasons 1 and 2, had a bizarre sexual relationship with her literal half-brother, and killed Polo (albeit accidentally), yet I can't help but love her character. Her development was the best part of Season 3, and the show just wasn't the same after she left."

    Kelly Martinez

    18. And finally, Lucille from Arrested Development

"I don't play favorites, I love all my children equally," earlier that day: "I don't care for Gob"

"She's the worst. She's selfish, conniving, elitist, manipulative, excessively critical, and a horrible mother. And I love her so, so, so much. She is my idol."

Reminder that I, Kelly Martinez, do not necessarily endorse all of these opinions!!
