There are some TV boyfriends that we can pretty much all agree are just the absolute WORST.

But there are some teen drama boyfriends who aren't necessarily awful people...they're just incredibly boring. They have zero personality, they're one-dimensional, or they're just super whiny and uninteresting compared to their love interest.

1. Dean Forester, Gilmore Girls

The WB

Oh, Dean. He had potential when he was first introduced, but then his entire personality just became "jealous, needy boyfriend." There's a reason most people were either Team Jess or Team Logan.

2. Ben Boykewich, The Secret Life of the American Teenager

ABC

Ben was just...UGH. He was obsessed with every girl who talked to him for more than five minutes, and he didn't have much of a life outside of whatever Amy drama was going on. Don't even get me started about his and Adrian's relationship.

3. Yeray, Elite

Netflix

It was clear Yeray's character was only there to be an obstacle for Samuel and Carla, and I was not here for it. He could have been interesting if they had given him a storyline outside of Carla, but he was introduced too late into the series to get any real development.

4. Duncan Kane, Veronica Mars

Honestly, I am convinced Duncan Kane is secretly a robot. This boy shows no emotion (except when he gets angry, I guess) and has ZERO personality, yet we were supposed to love him and Veronica together? Watching them together was like watching paint dry. Logan was clearly superior.

5. Ethan Ward, 90210

The CW

Ethan was clearly meant to be the heartthrob of 90210 from the pilot, but he just wasn't interesting enough to hold fans' attention. His relationship with Annie was boring and predictable, and it seemed like the writers really didn't know what to do with his character. Once Liam entered the scene, Ethan had to go.

6. Riley Finn, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This one might fall more under worst boyfriends than boring ones, but still. If your only real personality trait is being a jerk, you're not very interesting. I don't think there's a Buffy boyfriend as universally loathed as Riley.

7. Dawson Leery, Dawson's Creek

Most of us can agree that Pacey was the better man for Joey. Dawson was just whiny, self-centered, and insufferable to watch.

8. Will Bellmont, Scream

Poor Will didn't survive on our screens long enough to develop as a character, but from what we saw of him...I was not impressed. Sure, he was cute, but he was just a typical jerk jock. Yawn.

9. Jonah Haak, Degrassi: Next Class

What was the deal with this guy, exactly? He was on the show for five seasons and we knew almost nothing about him. He was incredibly condescending to Frankie all throughout their relationship and always acted morally superior to everyone, but had no real redeeming qualities himself. Also, he apparently had a super dark backstory and secret child that was just never mentioned again after one episode?!

10. Zach Stevens, The O.C.

Zach was a sweetheart, and I actually really liked his friendships with Seth and Ryan. But as a boyfriend for Summer, he was just kind of...meh? It was obvious he was only there to be a rival for Seth and Summer's relationship and he was written off shortly after that love triangle ended. He had so much potential, but alas.

11. Aaron Rose, Gossip Girl

I know his character was a bigger thing in the books, but I honestly forgot he even existed on the show. He dated Serena for what, two seconds? What was the point of his character, honestly?

12. Chase Adams, One Tree Hill

Chase was sweet, and I don't dislike his character, but I just could NOT bring myself to care about his and Brooke's relationship. After the emotional mess Brooke and Lucas put me through, I would have rather seen Brooke just be single for awhile instead of pairing her off with Chase.

13. Winston Williams, 13 Reasons Why

Honestly, Winston's character was just bizarre. He claimed to be completely and totally in love with every boy he hooked up with, and it was honestly kind of creepy. His character just came off as weird and obsessive.

14. Troy Vandegraff, Veronica Mars

Like Riley from Buffy, this guy's only real personality trait was being a jerk. Not only did he lie to Veronica throughout their whole relationship, he was just not interesting. They dated for what, three episodes? Yawn.

15. And finally, Johnny Harper, The O.C.

Fox

Johnny wasn't technically a boyfriend, but he was still a potential love interest for Marissa, so I'm counting him. This kid was like the very boring version of Oliver 2.0. I'm still not entirely sure what they were trying to accomplish with his character arc, honestly.
