27. A witch hazel astringent with alcohol that'll become your new holy grail, since it can be used for all sorts of skincare woes, from fading scarring and blemishes to soothing razor bumps to getting rid of a major zit.
We've had this in our house since my mom was using it to fade a scar ages ago. Over the summer, it literally saved my ass. I don't know why I'm about to tell this story on the internet, but last summer some sort of insect made its way into my shorts and left a constellation of bite marks across my sorry tush. Alternating this stuff with calamine lotion throughout the day helped them shrink, fade, and slowly look less angry (though I was no less angry at the mystery insect). This also saved my legs from a nasty razor rash caused by a rushed, reckless, too-little-water shave a few weeks back. It instantly cooled and soothed the pain and took down the bumps and redness overnight. More recently and less humiliatingly, I discovered this to be my new go-to for those painful, blind pimples that lurk deep under your skin and take days to come to a head. I had one of those starting to form the other day and first applied some salicylic acid spot treatment overnight, which brought the insidious welt closer to the surface. After applying some of this witch hazel generously throughout the next day, the zit dried up a bit and came to a head (making it susceptible to popping or pimple patch treatment) in record time and was way less painful than expected. TL;DR, I'm using this stuff for every skin problem from now on.
