Pour 1 part white vinegar to two two parts water into a spray bottle and spray the stain liberally. Lay a clean white damp towel over the stain. Get your iron and set it to the steam setting. Iron the towel over the stain for 30 seconds moving constantly while hitting the steam button. Repeat if necessary. The stain will lift out of the carpet and into the towel. Don’t stay in one spot! Keep the iron moving. Some people use 1 part ammonia and 1 part hot water in the spray bottle instead. Good Luck! This got red Kool-Aid out of my blue carpet that had been there for 7 years. You can use white distilled vinegar in your carpet cleaner for a really great non-chemical cleaner. Dilute it half and half with warm water. It smells bad when wet, but the odor completely goes away when it dries. This will eliminate any re-peeing of the same spot by house pets as it totally neutralizes the urine smell.
