1. Safety Last!


The one that started it all. Not only is Harold Lloyd the first to do this (I don't know if this is true or not. What am i supposed to do? Research?) but he did his own stunts, as well.

3. Hugo


Martin Scorsese's ode to silent films not only pays homage to "Safety Last!" by having his protagonist, Hugo, hang from a giant clock, but he also shows a clip of it early in the film.

7. The Thirty Nine Steps (1978 version)


The conspiratorial "Thirty Nine Steps" not only refers to the number of steps in Big Ben's clock tower, but 3 + 9 = 12... 1 + 2 = 3... 3 branches of government... Illuminatti... Jay Z... PB&J... types of peanut butter... Which brings us to...
