As Victoria enters its fourth lockdown of the pandemic, locals from around the state have taken to Reddit and Twitter to air their frustrations.
1.
2. "For some reason, this lockdown feels a bit different — huge amount of exposure sites, a lot of movement given we were on 80-something day streak of zero cases and masks were gone, besides public transport. Feels like there’s a bit of tension in the air from this one."
3. "It's probably easier to scream 'LOCKDOWN!' when you have a stable job that allows you to work from home."

4.
5. "I just can't comprehend how some people think that a lockdown is worse than staying open and letting it spread."
6.
7. "As a full time carer of two teenagers, the next week for me is going to be like a holiday compared to normal transmission. No rush to get them off to school, all the drop-offs and pick-ups are gone, no cavalcade of strange kids stomping through the house almost every day. It will be so peaceful."
8.
9. "The question is, how do we support those who are going to get royally fucked with a week of no wages and cancelled federal support?"

10.
11. "It makes it worse that states like Western Australia got all the benefits of Job Keeper, despite not really needing it. Meanwhile, we in Victoria were hit with numerous long lockdowns without any extra support for the most part. Now this happens and the government designs the lockdown as best they can around not giving anyone any support."

12. "How come some people still didn't understand the value of a snap lockdown and keep protesting? Are they blind to worldwide news or plain stupid idiots? After the Taiwan outbreak, I reckon we and Kiwis are the worlds best in managing COVID — but these protesting idiots think we achieved it by luck?"

13. "Just got back from work and every restaurant, gym and pub in Brighton was packed! People hugging and sitting so close to each other they couldn’t move. If we wake up to thousands of cases, they will all be blaming the government. Thanks Melbourne, very disappointed."
14.
15. "Looks like bog roll is back off the menu. Woolies was out. Didn't need any, but smh."
—u/myne
16. "But seriously, why the fuck are we importing this from other states? How are hotel quarantines Australia wide continually fucking this up? Why hasn’t the federal government built dedicated quarantine facilities by now?"
17. "It frustrates me that this seeded out of South Australia, yet people make it out to be a failure of some Melburnian or Victoria. The guy who was infected tested negative four freaking times. Anyone who gets tested that much and comes up negative has every right to think they are clear of the virus."

19. And finally, "You're not a true Victorian until you've been through a hard lockdown. One of us, one of us."
