The Wiggles Just Added Four New Members To The Band In A Huge Win For Diversity

"It's sure to put a smile on the faces of children all around the world, who see themselves reflected on the screen."

Australia's most iconic band, The Wiggles, just announced that they're shaking up their original lineup — with four new members joining the team!

In a statement to Instagram, the band said: "We’re announcing our new YouTube exclusive, Fruit Salad TV! For the first time ever, The Wiggles have expanded their line up to eight Wiggles, which is sure to double the fun!"

They continued: "Seeking to inspire a diverse audience with its gender balanced and diverse cast, Fruit Salad TV is sure to put a smile on the faces of children all around the world, who see themselves reflected on the screen."

The youngest of the members, Tsehay Hawkins, is just 15 years old and a five-time World Latin Champion Dancer!

And if you recognise the new purple member, John Pearce, but can't quite place his face, cop a look at this:

Yep, John was a member of dance and music group, Justice Crew (who still slap), and I reckon we need a mash-up of "Fruit Salad" and "Que Sera", like, yesterday.

OG Wiggle, Anthony Field, told NCA NewsWire that the changes were "morally" driven: "I'd been thinking about it for the last couple of years and there’s no better time than now...Morally we have to do this."

So, hats off to you, Wiggles! You're lifting the standard of Aussie kids' TV and we applaud you. ❤️🧡💛
