Hey, maybe don't piss off a cassowary because its talons are so sharp it can rip your lungs out without even breaking a bird-sweat. They also run faster than you and can leap three feet in the air. Seriously, leave these alone.

While the general rule of the universe it "if it's a spider and it's in Australia it can kill you," this is false in the case of the golden orb-weaver. If you sustain a bite from one of these gentle souls, you'll only get dizzy and maybe throw up a little. But that will pass.

Koalas sleep 20 hours a day, and they're not going to spend their 4 remaining hours trying to kill humans. They have better things to do.

First the blue-ringed octopus will flash blue and green to warn you, and if you don't skedaddle out of there it will chomp on you with its neurotoxin-delivering octopus beak. You will lose all feeling in your body. You will vomit. And then, if you don't get immediate medical help, you will die.

Even though European honey bees are known as "killer bees," they can't kill you – unless you have a severe bee allergy. In which case, yeah technically they can. But it's not common.

Look at that face! She's so friendly! Of course a cuscus can't kill you, unless you can die of ADORABLE.

It may not feel nice to cuddle a thorny devil, but there's nothing one of these spiky buddies can do to actually kill you.

Yes, this snake can kill you with a single bite thanks to its incredibly toxic venom. If left untreated, you could die within the hour but most cases are easily resolved by a very, very fast trip to the hospital.

This ugly little sucker can totally murder you if you mess with one. They are venomous AF and if they sting you in the chest you can straight up die if you don't have some stonefish antidote on hand (but you do have some of that...right?)

Please. Do. Not. Go. Near. These. They can grow to over 10 feet long. They have eyes. They know you're there, and the pain of being stung by one is so unendurable that people have died of shock before even getting out of the water. Oh, and they kill more people a year than sharks.

Hoo boy, kangaroos can seriously kick the crap out of you. While no one has died from a kangaroo attack since the 1930s, these 'rangas are more than capable of ripping your insides out WITH THEIR FEET CLAWS and punching you to death.

While the tawny frogmouth certainly looks pissed off, it's not likely to kill you. They may make a hissing noise if you threaten them though.
