Here Are 11 Locations In Canada That Would Make For The Most Diabolical And Intense Hunger Games Arenas

Alright folks, buckle up — the Hunger Games are back, baby! I recently watched the prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and had a thought: Forget Panem! What if THE Hunger Games took place in Canada? Where would the tributes battle it out?

Obviously the arenas can't be basic or generic. These arenas need pizazz! Spectacle! Twists! Mahogany!

Here are 11 places in Canada I volunteer as arenas for the next Hunger Games.

For the record, I would definitely be the first Tribute to die, no matter where these Hunger Games take place.

1. An Abandoned Target

Target in Canada, we hardly knew ye. This year's Hunger Games will kick off on every retailer worker's favourite day of the year — Black Friday. Keep an eye out for the angry Karens, but don't worry, you'll hear them screaming for a manager. 

2. The West Edmonton Mall

This arena has it all. Tributes can disguise themselves amongst the amusement park, battle it out on a pirate ship, or skate around the Cornucopia at the ice rink. The possibilities are endless. I'd pay money to watch this.

3. Bonhomme's Ice Palace

Visually *chefs kiss*. Tributes will have to fight each other... and Bonhomme.

4. Niagara Falls

The Hunger Games that year will start with the water turned OFF. Then, to spice things up, they'll turn the water back on. This arena also includes the surrounding Clifton Hill area, where tributes can hide out with the wax figurines in the Movie Land Wax Museum. I just know Peeta would be into that.

5. The Calgary Stampede

Going with a Western theme for that year's Hunger Games — tributes will be decked out in spurs and cowboy hats. Tres chic! Plus, halfway through to kick things up a notch, they'll be chased by mutant horses. 

6. Canada's Wonderland

The Cornucopia would for sure be inside the mountain. To grab additional supplies and weapons, tributes can hop on the Leviathan. But be warned — seat harnesses may or may be secure...

7. The Town Where They Filmed Schitt's Creek

A special guest host for these Hunger Games will be none other than Moira Rose. Can you just imagine her outfits and wigs??? She was born for that role.

8. Prince Edward Island — The Whole Province

No weapons, just potatoes.  And don't even think about taking a dip in the ocean... it's chalk full of lobsters. 

9. The Defunct Aquatic Amusement Park, Marineland

Dirty pools. Mutant orcas. The thirty second jingle from their commercial blasted through the arena on a non stop loop. 

10. Vancouver's Stanley Park

Picture this: Stanley Park in the middle of winter. You're trying to get to the parka your Mentor gifted you. There's a SNAP. A Tribute has their bow and arrow pointed at you. All is lost — but wait! A genetically enhanced bald eagle swoops down and plucks the Tribute off the ground. You are safe for another night. 

11. The McDonald's on Queen and Spadina in Toronto

Honestly, every time I go there it feels like the Hunger Games already. No changes necessary.
