People Are Divided About Whether This Animal Is A Raven Or A Rabbit, But We Got Answers

"You can say this is a bird or bunny, but I'm positive it's a blue dress." —@cspotweet

This is a raven. I think we can ALL agree on that.

And this is a rabbit. Again, I sense total agreement.

But what I'm about to show you is either a raven OR a rabbit — so take a quick look, and then tell me what you saw.

If you're stunned by the optical illusion, you're not alone. It all started earlier this week when scientist Dan Quintana tweeted out this video with the caption, "Rabbits love getting stroked on their nose."

Rabbits love getting stroked on their nose

Except, the thing is, the "rabbit" Dan's referring to is actually an 18-year-old raven named Mischief (!!!) who lives at the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park, Missouri.

Many people were onto Dan's hijinks from the get-go:

@dsquintana My first thought when seeing it, was bird. I had a hard time even trying to see the "rabbit" illusion. The beak is too sharp, and clearly not side by side ears. The texture of the feathers is there, etc.

@dsquintana Weirdest rabbit ears I have seen for some time...

But not everyone was so sure:

I thought you were low key petting a crow. https://t.co/XCnFnPkayY

And some people were just plain confused:

@greg_jenner I can't tell if you think it's a rabbit or a raven

The video, by the way, was originally taken in 2017 by Paige Davis, the Curator of Bird Training at the World Bird Sanctuary.

She told CNN that Mischief is "a very talented bird" who can paint, recycle, and even talk! This video of him saying "hi" will haunt my dreams for week.

So, in conclusion, Mischief is iconic, and I leave you with this tweet to roll your eyes at.

You can say this is a bird or bunny, but I'm positive it's a blue dress.
