The [Carolina Reaper](https://www.mercurynews.com/2016/09/29/what-happened-when-i-ate-a-carolina-reaper-worlds-hottest-pepper/) is a ghost pepper–red habanero hybrid and comes in at up to 2,200,000 Scoville heat units. That means it's over 280 times hotter than your average jalapeño.
