"Disenchanted," "Hocus Pocus 2," And 10 Other Movies Coming To Disney+ This Year

Thankfully we don't have to wait 300 years for a "Hocus Pocus" sequel.

Here are a dozen Disney+ movies to check out this year:

1. Sneakerella

This modern, sneaker-themed take on Cinderella, starring Chosen Jacobs from IT and Lexi Underwood from Little Fires Everywhere, hits Disney+ on February 18.

2. Turning Red

Turning Red follows Mei Lee, a young girl who turns into a giant red panda when her adrenaline runs too high. It'll be released on Disney+ on March 11.

3. More Than Robots

This documentary, directed by Gillian Jacobs, follows four teams of teens across the globe as they prepare for and compete in the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition. It'll be on Disney+ on March 18.

4. Cheaper by the Dozen

This remake stars Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union as a married couple trying to navigate their blended family and hits Disney+ on March 18.

5. Polar Bear

Being John Malkovich and The 40-Year-Old Virgin star Catherine Keener narrates this DisneyNature documentary about a mama Polar bear and her cubs, out on Disney+ this on April 22 (aka this year's Earth Day).

6. Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers

Chip and Dale are back and voiced by John Mulaney and Andy Samberg in this live-action animated film, which catches up with the chipmunks following the end of their TV series. It'll hit Disney+ on May 20.

7. Better Nate Than Ever

This musical coming-of-age story follows Nate, who has big dreams of starring on Broadway. It stars Rueby Wood in the titular role, All That's Aria Brooks as his best friend Libby, Disney staple Joshua Bassett as his older brother, and Lisa Kudrow as their Aunt Heidi. There's no set release date, but keep an eye out for it in the spring of this year.

8. Disenchanted

This Enchanted sequel will reunite Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel. Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, and Oscar Nunez are also joining the cast. 

The movie doesn't have an official release date, but should be on Disney+ sometime this fall.

9. Hocus Pocus 2

Speaking of much-anticipated sequels, this one — which will bring back Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler, and Sarah Jessica Parker as the Sanderson sisters — also doesn't have an official release date, but it's hard to imagine it won't be streaming sometime in October.

10. Pinocchio

One of three Pinocchio adaptations coming out this year, this one features Tom Hanks as Gepetto, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, and The Haunting of Bly Manor star Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio. It's expected to land on Disney+ in late 2022.

11. Peter Pan & Wendy

Peter Pan & Wendy will be flying to #DisneyPlus. David Lowery directs an amazing cast including @YaraShahidi in the role of Tinker Bell and Jude Law as Captain Hook. 🧚🪝

Pinocchio isn't the only classic tale getting the Disney remake treatment this year. Peter Pan & Wendy stars Jude Law as Captain Hook, Alexander Molony as Peter, Ever Anderson as Wendy, Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell, Jim Gaffigan as Smee, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Darling, and Molly Parker as Mrs. Darling. It's set to premiere on Disney+ later this year.

12. Three Men and a Baby

So far only one of the men in this remake has been cast, so we don't know who will be joining Zac Efron, or exactly when the movie will be released, but it's supposed to hit Disney+ later this year.
