At the time, no one really thought anything of their 20-year age gap, because, as Neill pointed out to the Sunday Times while talking about Jurassic World: Dominion, it "was a completely appropriate age difference for a leading man and lady!"
It got me thinking about some of the other age-gap relationships in '90s movies (of which there are many). Here are a handful of them, ranked from smallest to largest gap:
.Cameron Diaz and Dermot Mulroney in My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)
.Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman in While You Were Sleeping (1995)
.Taye Diggs and Angela Bassett in How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998)
.Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct (1992)
.Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman (1990)
.Eddie Kaye Thomas and Jennifer Coolidge in American Pie (1999)
.Michelle Pfeiffer and Jack Nicholson in Wolf (1994)
.Deborah Kara Unger and Michael Douglas in The Game (1997)
.Winona Ryder and Gabriel Byrne in Little Women (1994)
.Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford in Sabrina (1995)
.Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets (1997)
.Anne Heche and Harrison Ford in Six Days, Seven Nights (1998)
.Gwyneth Paltrow, Viggo Mortensen, and Michael Douglas in A Perfect Murder (1998)
.Halle Berry and Warren Beatty in Bulworth (1998)
.Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery in Entrapment (1999)
.Drew Barrymore and Tom Skerritt in Poison Ivy (1992)
