It's been 13 years since Hey Arnold! ended, and even though I'm now a grown-ass woman, I've been wondering one thing for all this time: What happened to Arnold's parents?!
All we really knew about Arnold's parents, Miles and Stella, was that they had disappeared on a humanitarian mission to San Lorenzo where they were trying to cure people of the "sleeping sickness" and it was so sad:
Well, after one hell of a wait, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie premiered on Nickelodeon over the weekend, and we finally got the closure we've all needed.
Listen, I'm not going to tell you the whole damn plot of the movie because you should watch, but anyways Arnold and his classmates end up on a trip to San Lorenzo...
...a lot of stuff happens (it's a whole friggin' movie!), but ultimately Arnold discovers that his parents actually caught the sleeping sickness, which basically presented itself like a long-term coma — meaning they were ASLEEP THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME.
Anyways, Arnold and his parents finally have the amazing reunion we've all been waiting for...
...and Arnold's face was like this, and hoooooly cow I'm tearing up thinking about it again:
It was just so perfect...
...and they were really, really, truly back and Arnold was so happy my heart burst:
