Hilary Duff's Husband, Matthew Koma, Hilariously Exposed Her "Beige Flag," And It's An Absolutely Perfect Joke

    WELL PLAYED...

If you were a child of the early '00s, there's a pretty good chance you were familiar with the musical stylings of Hilary Duff.

Hilary waving to the crowd with both hands as she stands on stage during a performance

Well, much like the rest of us kids of the '90s and '00s, Hilary is now a parent in her 30s, and her Saturday nights look a little bit different now — and her husband, Matthew Koma, is the first one to point it out, revealing what her "beige flag" is.

In a TikTok that honestly made me laugh out loud, Matthew gave us a glimpse into Hilary's wild nights these days with her absolute bop "Wake Up" playing in the background and the simple caption, "*whispers* wake up wake up":

Hilary Duff napping with the caption "my wife's beige flag is falling asleep 8 minutes after a movie starts on a saturday night even though she sang a song about waking up on a saturday night"

Just in case you need a refresher on the "Wake Up" lyrics, there is surprisingly little about falling asleep while watching a movie:

Some lyrics from "Wake Up": "Wake up, wake up on a Saturday night / Could be New York, maybe Hollywood and Vine, London, Paris, maybe Tokyo / There's something going on / Anywhere I go tonight / Tonight, yeah, tonight"

Naturally, people in the comments could not get enough of the joke and even made references to Hilary's other iconic hits:

Jokes about Hilary's songs "What Dreams Are Made Of," "Why Not," and "Coming Clean" including "Yeah but she also sang about what dreams are made of so..."

Someone even pointed out that our pop princess who once needed a dance floor and a DJ has more than earned her right to nap:

Comment says "She's done enough for this world, carried a whole generation on her back, nap earned"

And, of course, we must acknowledge that Hilary and Matthew truly are adorable relationship goals:

Comment: "*immediately adds to manifestation board* WHY IS THIS POST SO CUTE?!!!"

So the next time I fall asleep on the couch at 8:45 p.m. and tell my husband I'm just "quickly resting my eyes for a second," I will know I'm simply channeling a true legend:
