The Cast Of "The Disaster Artist" Vs Their Real-Life Counterparts

    What a story, Mark.

    James Franco as Tommy Wiseau

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: Wiseau, who is incredibly private, was initially skeptical about The Disaster Artist, but has since said he "99.9%" approves of the movie. He even has a cameo in it.

    Dave Franco as Greg Sestero

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: The Disaster Artist is based on Sestero's memoir of the same name.

    Seth Rogen as Sandy Schklair

    Point Grey Pictures,

Schklair's work as script supervisor on The Room was uncredited, although he played a large part in the creation of the movie according to The Disaster Artist and Schklair himself.

    Ari Graynor as Juliette Danielle

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: Danielle was shocked at how long the sex scenes between her character Lisa and Wiseau's character Johnny were in the final cut of the film.

    Zac Efron as Dan Janjigian

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: The Room is Janjigian's first and most notable acting credit.

    Josh Hutcherson as Philip Haldiman

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: Although Haldiman's character, Denny, was supposed to be the youngest character in The Room, he was one of the oldest members of the cast in real life.

Jacki Weaver as Carolyn Minnott, Wiseau-Films

Fun Fact: The Room was Minnott's first and only movie role.

June Diane Raphael as Robyn Paris, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: Paris's character, Michelle, was originally meant to be played by Juliette Danielle, who was later cast as lead character Lisa instead after the original actor for that part was fired.

    Nathan Fielder as Kyle Vogt

    Point Grey Pictures, Wiseau-Films

Fun fact: Vogt's character, Peter, disappears without explanation towards the end of The Room because Vogt had another acting commitment and had been assured by Wiseau that filming would be complete before he had to move on (it wasn't).

The Disaster Artist opens nationally in Australia on December 7, and in the United States on December 8.
