The Next Season Of "Game Of Thrones" Will Be Shorter AND Delayed

    WINTER IS TRULY HERE.

For Game of Thrones fans, the long wait between seasons is painful, and the 10 episodes we get each year feel all too brief.

But this year, it will be even harder: Not only will Season 7 feature just seven episodes instead of the usual 10, it will also be released at least a couple of months later than usual.

Needless to say, fans aren't exactly taking the news well...

when you hear Game Of Thrones season 7 only 7 episode and we have to wait till summer #GameOfThrones

There will be only 7 episodes in Season 7 of Game of Thrones.

NO! #GameofThrones you better be playin! How are we supposed to WAIT longer for ONLY 7 more episodes! I'M YELLING!

The fandom after learning that we have to wait until next summer for #GameofThrones. @WiCnet @GameOfOwns

On the plus side, less – I mean fewer – episodes means more time and budget spent on each individual episode. So hopefully we'll get an even bigger and better season than ever before in terms of quality, if not length.

MAYBE WE'LL EVEN GET SOME DECENT DIREWOLF SCREENTIME.

It also gives a bit more time for George R. R. Martin/the books to catch up to the show again.

And in the meantime, we'll just have to rewatch the entire series over and over again.
