Season 8 of Game of Thrones saw Daenerys Targaryen go from saviour to villainous dictator, murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent people before being killed herself by the man she loves. HBO It's...a lot, and has left many people upset. Not least of which is Emilia Clarke, the actor who has played Dany for eight seasons and who has been very open about her attachment to her. Now, two interviews released after the Season 8 finale are giving some insight into how Emilia really feels about what happened to her beloved character. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia revealed she cried when she read the Season 8 script and learned Dany's fate. She said she had to reread it several times before it sunk in. I’m like, ‘How am I going to do this?’” Emilia also sought comfort from her family, even though she couldn't reveal what was troubling her. Instagram: @emilia_clarke / Via instagram.com “I wanted to show her as we saw her in the beginning: young, naïve, childlike, open, and full of love and hope. I wanted so much for that to be the last memory of her.” On a lighter and extremely relatable note, Emilia revealed she was afraid of Beyoncé's reaction to Dany's dark turn after learning the superstar was a fan of khaleesi. Instagram: @emilia_clarke / Via instagram.com On meeting Beyoncé, Emilia said, "All I wanted to scream was ‘Please, please still like me even though my character turns into a mass-killing dictator! Please still think that I’m representing women in a really fabulous way.’" Emilia Clarke: a queen, now and always. HBO Need more Game of Thrones? Check out all our Game of Thrones coverage here.
