Here is a very well-written article found at: Gigaom.com that clearly, concisely explains the reasons to oppose SOPA. Written by no other than the "Oracle of Silicone Valley." Definitely worth a read!
Following the announcement that Reddit will be "blacked out" on January 18th in protest of the SOPA and PIPA bills currently in congress, other sites have begun to jump on the bandwagon. This is my public plea that Buzzfeed includes their name to the list. And I hope that Wikipedia, Facebook and Google will also participate. Not enough people know about this legislation and truly understand what's at stake. We need to get the sites that are most used by all walks of people to show solidarity, not just the fringe sites that cater to people comfortable with the internet and technology.
I suggest Congress salaries go to pay veterans' benefits and military paychecks while the government is shut down. At least they earn their paychecks.
