My 10 Examples Of Being A Lost Fanatic

That show about all the weird things that happen on an island after a plane crash, remember that? Those were some great times. I should know too. I've been a fan of the show since it aired. I was immediately hooked 10 years ago today. So, as any good fan should know, we all must represent our favorite shows in someway. Here are ten crowning achievements of my Lost collection.

1. Custom-Made Lost Items

A couple of friends made me a cute little Dharma necklace and a beautiful hand drawn swan station mascot. My wonderful fiancée took an ordinary table and made it really special. She also came up with her own Dharma Initiative advertisement.

2. Lost Clothing

I have two hoodies. The left one was a gift and features most of the Dharma stations. The other is a custom-made white rabbit costume. The fiancée and I attended a party for the final episode, so we dressed up. We both wore one because obviously there were two #15 rabbits.

3. Lost Figures

I have every one of the Todd McFarlene-produced figures. Though I lost Hurley's speech box somewhere. A couple of Kubriks over there and some bobbleheads. One came from a caring friend all the way in Texas.

4. The DVDs

It's not enough to own just one set of DVDs. I've watched each episode at least three times, in order. So, after getting each individual season, I had to get the entire box set. It's got all kinds of cool secrets inside and a couple of extra footage not seen on TV or anywhere else. But I won't tell you what it is.

6. Books and CDs

I don't do much reading, but when I do I prefer Lost. I got a couple of magazines, yes, an official Lost magazine. And got the book after the show ended. I also received two of the soundtracks as gifts. Paddle Jumper is a good track by my favorite is Locke'd Out Again. It's when Locke is banging on the hatch door after Boone dies. Spoilers!

7. Posters

So, I have a couple of posters and only one is real. The bottom left with the cast was a gift from a friend, that's the only real one. The rest were all printed and put together for that Lost party I mentioned. They're pretty high quality. At the end of the night, guests were allowed to grab some and Claire was one of the last still hanging. It's fine by me, she isn't crazy in that one.

8. Games and Puzzles

If there's ever a rainy day, I'm all set. I've got two more puzzles to work on and the video game to work on. The completed puzzle actually has one piece missing...one! And don't get me started on Lost: Via Domus. It's a terrible game but my love for Lost is so great that I don't really care. Look, I bought it twice. I also got some Lost trading cards. They're just that, something to collect. One even has a piece of Kate's shirt on it!

9. The Numbers

Dude, I'm not crazy. If Hurley could play them in the lottery with nothing bad happening, I could get them tattooed. Most painful three minutes of my life though. This was my first tattoo and got it a couple of years before the show ended. Good thing they remained mysterious until the end. If a kid asks me what the numbers are I just tell them it's my phone number.

10. Lost Prop

Yup, that's right. I have an authentic costume worn by the one and only, Kimberley Joseph. She played the flight attendant whom ended up with the Tailies. Later on she was one of the people living at the Temple. After the series ended they held a Lost auction and I got the winning bid! It's my most prized possession of the collection. Maybe Kimberley will see this!
