In Honour Of Dua Lipa Wiping Her Instagram Clean, I'm Archiving 15 Of Her Most Jaw-Dropping Looks

There's something about Dua Lipa in beachwear, on a yacht over a turquoise sea, that is... deeply comforting to me.

A NEW ERA IS HERE AND THAAAAT (PROBABLY) MEANS: NEW ALBUM.

It's been nearly four years since Dua Lipa released her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, on March 27, 2020, in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The album would go onto win Best Pop Vocal Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards beating out Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and EVEN TAYLOR SWIFT!

And in the time since, Dua has done a LOT! But perhaps most notably (recency bias, whatever) – this past summer! From her participation in the Barbie movie to her collaboration with Versace on the La Vacanza collection, Dua literally created "Vacanza Girl Summer."

All of which was documented on her INSTAGRAM....

But overnight, Dua's 1,500+ photo feed was entirely deleted and in the morning, fans awoke to a single photo of Dua debuting a new MOODY, CHERRY-RED HAIRDO. The caption read simply: "miss me?"

I fell to my knees and SCREAMED YES when I saw this. 

But the thing is... I literally DO miss, Dua 😔 And when I say that, I mean I miss her Instagram which I frequent often! It's FASHION, it's ASPIRATIONAL, it's BARBIE, it's HOT!

So although I'm ECSTATIC and ready to ride or die for #DL3, her Instagram is now..... wiped. You see my issue? 

So, while we patiently wait for the rollout of "DL3" (what fans are dubbing Dua's new era), I've taken it upon myself to archive and HONOUR her most recent era.

Let's kick off summer like we ALL do – co-hosting the Met Gala! Did you even know they HAD a host of the Met Gala? Didn't think so (said like Nelly Furtado in "Promiscuous").... Anyways, she wore Chanel FW1992 original bride dress and a 100-carat ROCK Tiffany & Co. let her debut for the very first time.

2. The After Met Gala Party.

At the "little after-Met Gala mash up" that she threw, Dua taught us the very first "New Rule" of summer: it's not a vacanza if you're not dancing the night away.

3. The Dua Lipa book club.

4. The hard launch of her sexy French man.

Dua Lipa made her Cannes Film Festival debut this summer AND debuted her director boyfriend, Romain Gavras. *SQUEAL* 

5. "Dance The Night" official music video release.

"Dance The Night" – the lead single from the Barbie movie – became the soundtrack for the whole summer and went on to reach number ONE on the UK charts. Most importantly, Dua's signature outfit from the music video sets the stage for a whole SEASON of knockout looks.

6. The launch of Versace's La Vacanza beachwear collection.

On June 8th, Vacanza Girl Summer was officially created when Dua posted this photo of herself with the simple caption: "honestly I'm ready for a vacanza," hinting at her her soon-to-be released collaboration with Versace.

10. The LA Barbie movie premiere.

For those of you who have been living under a rock and haven't seen the Barbie movie, Dua plays "Mermaid Barbie." To honour her character, Dua stunned in this crystalline fishnet Bottega Veneta gown at the LA premiere of Barbie.

11. A trip back to her homeland, Albania.

Trust me, there's no where this girl feels more at home than posing in front of an ocean, know that! And an ocean in Albania? Now THAT'S her favourite formula.

From one island to another, Dua continues her Grecian exploration. And I can't describe it but when I see Dua Lipa aboard a yacht somewhere over crystal clear indigo oceans....... I feel a sense of peace....
