Here's What's Coming To Netflix Australia In March

So many new series to get obsessed with.

Howdy! I swear I just blinked and the entirety of February went on by like that.

Anyway, it's March, which is exciting for two reasons: A) My birthday is coming up (feel free to send me wishes on Twitter when March 29 rolls on around) and B) There's a boatload of new TV shows, movies and docos coming to Netflix Australia. Let's get into it!

If you're looking for a new series to get obsessed with, check out Bombay Begums (March 8), Sky Rojo (March 19) and The Irregulars (March 26).

I just watched the trailer for Bombay Begums and I'm already so excited for it. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, it follows the lives of five women from different walks of life as they shatter societal norms and the patriarchy in India. The preview has some powerful dialogue and as a fellow brown girl, I can see this one hitting not just for Indians, but women around the world.

Next is Sky Rojo, the latest series from Alex Pina, who is the genius that gave us Money Heist (one of my favourite shows of all time) and White Lines. This one is being described as a dark comedic thriller, which follows the wild and crazy journey of three sex workers after they escape their pimp and his henchmen.

Last, but not least, is The Irregulars, which dives into the world of 19th century London and Sherlock Holmes. This time however, the series isn't focused on the brilliant detective, but rather a group of teenagers known as the Baker Street Irregulars who work for Dr Watson to solve supernatural crimes.

Plus, for those in need of their daily true crime and horror fix, there's Under Suspicion: Uncovering The Wesphael Case (March 17) and Haunted: Latin America (March 31) to sink your teeth into.

Under Suspicion follows the high-profile court case of Belgian politician Bernard Wesphael, who was accused of murdering his wife in 2013.

Meanwhile, Haunted: Latin America delves into the chilling, unexplained and paranormal through dramatic reenactments of real life experiences.

Or, if you want something more light-hearted, your fave cooking show Nailed It! is coming back with a Double Trouble edition.

Basically, it's the same Nailed It we all love, but featuring teams of clueless contestants.

Moving on to new movies, my top picks would have to be Moxie (March 3), and Caught By A Wave (March 25).

Based on the book by Jennifer Mathieu and directed by Amy Poehler (who also stars in the movie!), Moxie follows a shy 16-year-old who is fed up with the sexist and toxic environment at her high school. Inspired by her mum's rebellion past, she anonymously publishes a zine that sparks a school-wide revolution.

Caught By The Wave has major romance vibes, with the plot revolving around two teenage kids who fall in love at a beachside summer camp in Sicily. But, there's a sad twist to the story, which will test their relationship.

And we can't forget about the classics — The Karate Kid (March 1), Austin Powers (The Spy Who Shagged Me) (March 1) and Mao's Last Dancer (March 15) will all be available as well.

God, remember when everyone at school would quote Austin Powers? Truly a time.

Now, if none of that sounds like it's worthy of being added to your to-watch list, there are a couple interesting documentaries dropping, like Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell (March 1), Murder Among The Mormons (March 3) and Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal (March 17).

Through rare behind-the-scenes footage and in-depth interviews, Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell celebrates the life and career of Christopher Wallace, otherwise known as The Notorious B.I.G.

Meanwhile, Murder Among The Mormons is a three-part doco series that promises to deep dIve into one of the most shocking crimes to have ever taken place among the Mormon community and the criminal mastermind behind it.

And you can probably already guess from the title, but Operation Varsity Blues will pull back the curtain on the college admissions scandal involving rich and famous families trying to sneak their kids into top US universities.
