James Charles And Trisha Paytas Have Both Responded To The D'Amelio Drama, And Boy, Things Are Getting Messy

The messy YouTube drama just keeps on coming.

Alright, so if you haven't been following the latest YouTube drama, let me give you a refresher.

Recently, Charli and Dixie D'Amelio — who are two of the most followed people on TikTok, in case you're wondering — uploaded a video to their family YouTube channel that sparked a hell of a lot of backlash.

The video, which was part of a new series called Dinner With the D'Amelios, featured the family and a surprise guest — in this case James Charles, who is their close friend — eating a meal that was prepared by a professional chef.

Viewers weren't happy with what they saw, however, and called Charli and Dixie "brats" and labelled their behaviour "embarrassing".

The ongoing backlash has resulted in Charli steadily losing a high number of followers. And while she hasn't responded to the situation, her older sister, Dixie, posted a TikTok video, explaining her side of the story.

-video...anyways, not posting this for any other reason than to share the truth of something that was ridiculously blown out of proportion...

In it, Dixie said that she would "never in any way wanna be taken as disrespectful, especially from an out-of-context 15-second clip". She further explained that her team knew she would have a bad reaction to the snail.
"Basically, that clip, that wasn't in the original video, is my team and chef Aaron May trying to convince me to try snail, knowing that I would have a reaction."

Now, James Charles has decided to throw his two cents into the mix. Earlier today, he tweeted that this situation was "not sitting right with me" and that viewers should not expect Charli "to be a perfect role model".

this charli situation is NOT sitting right with me... 100M followers in one year & y'all expect her to know how to be a perfect role model? death threats because she's a picky eater & made a joke about a milestone? 30+ year olds dragging someone half their age? feels familiar 😐

He continued this by saying, "30+ year olds dragging someone half their age? Feels familiar", which is most likely referencing James' multiple public scandals and the backlash he has gone through.

Let's not forget the whole James/Jeffree/Tati drama, as well as James' past, which he has hopefully learned and grown from.

Personally, I agree with James, to a point — death threats are never okay — but let's not get past the fact that the D'Amelios behaviour towards this professional chef was inexcusable.

But, before I get into this too much, Trisha Paytas — another YouTuber — decided to insert herself into the ongoing drama by replying to James with a doozy of a tweet.

Imagine always being the victim in every situation,James how do u do it ? How r u so perfect ? I know it’s easy to deflect to me now. But imagine being JAMES CHARLES-More hated than even Trisha Paytas whew, what a feat 👏🏻 ps stop stealing small creators art, clothing, mu looks etc https://t.co/qyPQwSphqU

She also followed this up by saying that "Everyone has room for growth/positive influence, except James Charles. Please cancel him."

Definitely have always said no one deserves to be cancelled. Everyone has room for growth/positive influence. Except James Charles. Please cancel him. He a forever victim with a superiority conflict, has never said sorry his whole life/hangs out with an underage girl regularly

    *Cue immediate face palm.*

If you're not aware, Trisha Paytas is one incredibly controversial and problematic YouTuber, who has her own fair share of drama.

Boy, oh boy. I know my feelings on the situation, but what do you guys think about this ongoing YouTube drama, which now involves Charli and Dixie D'Amelio, James Charles AND Trisha Paytas?

UPDATE: Charli D'Amelio has posted an update on Instagram Live, where she addressed both the YouTube video and the backlash.

Charli D’Amelio took to Instagram Live to address backlash about her demeanor in the first episode of her YouTube series, ‘Dinner With the D’Amelios’ — the video that led to her losing 1 million followers on TikTok.
