Who Said It: Katniss Or Buffy?

Buffy has died several times. But this one is all Katniss.

"Why am I not dead? I should be dead."

Buffy has faced plenty of gnarly vampires with bad dental hygiene, but this was Kantiss referring to her District 2 competitor Enobaria.

"What's with her teeth?"

Katniss is often rude to Peeta, but this one is actually Buffy to Angel when she breaks up with him in "Lover's Walk."

"We’re not friends. We never were."

This one was Buffy urging Angel not to commit suicide by sunlight (sunicide, if you will) in the perfectly cheery Christmas episode, "Amends."

"Strong is fighting. It’s hard and it’s painful and it’s every day. It’s what we have to do, and we can do it together, but if you’re too much of a coward for that, then burn."

Someone said THIS to Buffy when she died in "Prophecy Girl," but she did not in fact say it herself. This was Katniss to Peeta in _Catching Fire_.

"You were dead. Your heart stopped."

Katniss definitely threw down the gauntlet to protect her sister, but this one was Buffy challenging Giles' demand that SHE kill her sister in order to stop their latest apocalypse.

"Come on. Say it! Tell me to kill my sister!"

Yes, the District is hella riled up about Katniss' power, but this was Buffy talking about the Watchers' Council in "Checkpoint."

"Power. I have it. They don't. This bothers them."

Buffy often drives her friends away with long, long, long speeches, but she's good at making friends! Katniss on the other hand... \*sips tea\*

"I'm not very good at making friends."

Both ladies have go to war in their respective journeys, but this particular quote belongs to Buffy in the series finale, "Chosen."

"I just realized something, something that really never occurred to me before. We're gonna win."

That's alright, you just have to spend a little less time seducing people on campus and spend more time studying up on your pop culture heroines.
