Response to "Hello" Cats Compilation:
This is just a compilation of cats right before they vomit.
Sad, but true. Still rereading them though so when the paperback copy of A Dance With Dragons finally comes out sometime in the next hundred years or so I’ll be up to date. That is, of course, a commentary on the length of the books and the amount of times A Dance With Dragons paperback release has been pushed back. I could buy the hardcover, but i’m not paying hardcover prices when I hate hardcovers and if I’m a mind to collect these books I have the others in paperback and the hardcover will ruin the symmetry of my book shelf.
Response to "Stoker": One Sundance Film’s Terrible Timing:
Really, your attitude about your reaction to this film is more disturbing to me than the film ever could be. Violence and people acting oddly, nope never would have guessed that from the man who brought us Old Boy. Go watch Take Shelter about a man seemingly descending into madness who can’t afford psychiatric care because of the American medical system. That’s more disturbing than anything described in this article.
Response to 36 Reasons Why We Will Miss Bookstores:
I currently work at a used bookstore (still hanging on) and all of those are true. Luckily for me, my manager is super cheap and we don’t do straight up returns. My absolute favourite was just the other day when a guy walked into the store and said, “I was here 15 years ago and bought a book on back pain, do you have another copy?” Totally expected me to know everything about this book cause he bought it at this store 15 years ago and was very disappointed when, no, we didn’t have a copy. But, Oprah is awesome. Just put those books with that sticker on the same shelf and boom, people will buy em. And trust me, A LOT of Oprah books are given away to used book stores.
Response to 16 Unbelievable Acts Of Kindness:
I was standing in an express checkout line in the supermarket one evening. The line up was long as there was only one other till open in the entire store. The lady behind me just had an orange, for her diabetic grandmother. I asked her, “is that all you have?” She said yes. I grabbed the orange and put it with my stuff. Didn’t ask, just did it. The cashier asked, “do you know her?” as the lady walked away with her orange and a confused look. “Nope, you have a long line, she needed the orange quickly, easy fix.” The cashier said, “oh.” then, “Thank you.” Being kind is sometimes just being aware of the world around you, no matter where in the world you are.
Response to Here’s Why You Should Stay Home On Black Friday:
I’m sorry, butIcan’t agree that off brand isa”value.” An off brand CD player bought this year would beavalue because the knock off company will finally haveaproduct close to the quality of those companies that can better afford the research and development of newer technologies. In5yearsalow brand plasma may be up to speed, but not today, today it isarip off. BeforeIboughtalarge flat screenIspentafew hours researching online which were the best values in my price range, meaning, which were best made according to reviews and customers.3years and (knock wood) no problems. My sister bought the cheapest no name piece of crap and has no small amount of problems. But, it was there, it was cheap and she wanted it NOW! so…. Spending money like Black Friday locusts is what gets people into debt issues andathing like Black Friday promotes spending without thinking.
