Volunteers from Occupy Sandy, which is operating a large grassroots cleanup effort in the New York City area, has a clever way of listing what supplies are needed: an Amazon wedding registry. Instead of your usual wedding registry suspects like blenders and silverware, the Occupy Sandy registry lists blankets, headlamps, work gloves, and cleaning supplies.
Cleanup crews have noted that there is a surplus of some supplies and a lack of others, while those looking to donate haven’t been sure of what to give. So this seems like a great idea.
