People Are Going Absolutely Batshit For These Stunning Cakes

    The cakes at this Scottish tea room are almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

    Check out this gorgeous mirror-finish cake, which features fresh figs and delectable blackberries.

    You'd be forgiven for thinking it was a Bake Off showstopper, but it's just a standard cake at Tea Jenny's, a tea room in Falkirk near Glasgow.

    Here's another one of their creations: an elaborately decorated coconut and yuzu sponge.

    Yuzu is a relatively rare citrus fruit originating in East Asia, which looks like a tangerine but tastes like a more floral lime. It's very fancy, in other words.

    The cakes are the work of owner Jenny Duncan and her baker colleague Bryan McKay.

    Both Duncan and McKay are completely self-taught bakers and cake decorators. This is their playful Jammie Dodger and doughnut cake. It's a true work of art.

    All the cakes are available to buy by the slice.

    So if you want to buy a piece of this elaborate lime, coconut, and mango cake, you can. Although it would be a shame to cut into it. It's so pretty.

    And each cake is a towering, six-layer masterpiece.

    Like this sumptuous Battenberg-inspired sponge.

    One of their most popular cakes is this salted caramel and pretzel tower, studded with toffee popcorn.

    Not to mention tiny waffle cones filled with buttercream icing. Yum.

    And their lush Nutella cake flies off the shelves too.

    It's glazed with Nutella, features a Nutella buttercream icing, and has gilded Ferrero Rocher and Kinder Bueno chocolates tumbling out of it. Wow.

    In fact, they use sweets in a lot of their cakes.

    McKay told BuzzFeed: "We like to strike a balance between the more 'glamorous' cakes, and fun varieties like this lollipop rainbow design. Children really respond well to cakes that feature retro sweets, and so do adults!"

    Some of the cakes are so perfect that they're weirdly relaxing to look at.

    A slice of this white chocolate strawberry cake would be a little bit of heaven on a warm summer's day. Or even a cold winter's one.

    Because if you spend ages baking and decorating a beautiful cake like this nectarine sponge, you definitely want to record it for posterity.

    McKay told BuzzFeed: "The slices of cake are large, so some people just opt for a cup of tea and a meringue. Our empire biscuits are really popular too."

    But mostly, people come to gaze in awe at the cakes.

    This ginger, honeycomb, and fig cake should probably be in an art gallery. It would also make a truly spectacular Royal Ascot hat.
