I see. My mistake. I’m confused by what type of relationship Alig and St. James presently have, so I guess I misinterpreted it.
I don’t know this guy personally, but what I do know about him repulses me, to put it bluntly. He brutally murdered someone and dismembered their body. That is something only a deeply depraved individual would do, regardless of his sobriety at the time. Perhaps he has changed, but judging from his behavior after he was released he seems like the same narcissistic, self-serving, attention whore he was before. I wouldn’t be surprised if the thought never once crossed his mind that maybe he shouldn’t make such a huge deal about his release out of respect for the surviving family members and friends of the person’s life he took, because that person will NEVER come home. Also, I think the open letter James St. James wrote was in very poor taste, most notably the obviously sarcastic bit about being on a “spiritually enlightened path” and “planting trees in Angel’s name”. Seriously? WTF? It’s like they don’t comprehend the gravity of the situation. A life was taken. How does that ever merit a sarcastic joke, no matter how many years have passed? Ugh.
