These Jumbo Ice Molds Are My Most Important Tool For Making Cocktails At Home

Forget fancy bar tools. These giant ice cubes are a game-changer when it comes to making cocktails at home.

I've gotten into a handful of new hobbies during quarantine from watercoloring to sourdough bread-making, but above all, I've become obsessed with making cocktails at home.

And if there's a single product that's helped me make delicious drinks at home, it's these jumbo spherical ice cube molds ($13.89).

Two sets if jumbo ice cube molds — one spherical and one square — with frozen cubes.

The set of two ice cube trays includes two spherical molds and six square molds. Unlike normal ice cubes that quickly melt and leave your drink tasting watered down, these giant ice cubes keep your cocktail delightfully cold, and they remain intact while you sip.

The square molds take about two seconds to fill up and place in the freezer. The spherical cubes take a little bit more finesse in order to make them perfectly shaped, but the set comes with a funnel to make filling them up easier.

The cubes take a few hours to freeze, so I often make a batch, remove the cubes, and store them in plastic bags in my freezer so I have lots to work with. Because they are made of flexible silicone, the giant ice cubes quickly come right out of the molds with no fuss.

From negronis to margaritas and everything in between, these simple ice cube molds instantly make my cocktail creations taste better. And not to mention the jumbo ice cubes make any basic DIY drink look fancier too.

Even if you're making mocktails or nonalcoholic drinks, these jumbo ice cubes still make a world of difference when it comes to both taste and presentation.

"These ice trays are great! I especially love the round ones. They keep your drink very cold and take a long time to melt. The trays are easy to fill and they do not take up much room in the freezer." —Lisa W.
