    #FastAgainstSlaughter !

#FastAgainstSlaughter to raise awareness on farmed animal suffering on Oct. 2nd. Most farmed animals are starved for at least 12-hours on their way to slaughter. So, will you be fasting in solidarity & remembrance of their suffering? @FARMUSA

World Day for Farmed Animals is October 2nd

October 2nd was chosen because it is Gandhi's birthday. Throughout his life, Gandhi undertook nearly 20 fasts as political and social protest.

Most farmed animals are starved for hours, even days, as they are being transported to slaughter. In remembrance and solidarity with their tremendous suffering, we invite you to join activists across the world in a Fast Against Slaughter on October 2nd.

You CAN take a stand and sign the pledge here: http://www.dayforanimals.org/pledge

World Day for Farmed Animals (WDFA), founded in 1983, is dedicated to exposing the needless suffering and death of sentient animals raised and slaughtered for food. World Day for Farmed Animals will continue until animals are no longer seen as commodities, raised for their flesh and by-products.

"[In the wintertime,] can you imagine if you were in the back of a trailer that's open and the windchill factor is minus 50 degrees, and that trailer is going 50-60 miles per hour? The animals are urinating and defecating right in the trailers, and after awhile, it's going to freeze, and their hooves are right in it. If they go down, well, you can imagine lying in there for 10 hours on a trip." -- Dr. Lester Friedlander, former USDA veterinary inspector.

After you make your pledge at dayforanimals.org/pledge, upload your ‪#‎FastAgainstSlaughter‬ pic! Post it anywhere on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Just be sure to use the hashtag #FastAgainstSlaughter and please tag @farmusa (Twitter & Instagram) / Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) (FB).
