This Leaked Star Wars Art Might Reveal New Details From The Film

WARNING! So. Many. Spoilers. (Maybe.)

Posted on

Nearly one month before our first look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2014, an anonymous Imageshack user leaked a huge collection of concept art that appears to be from the upcoming film.

Given what we've learned since, from theatrical trailers and publicity shoots, let's have a look at what we missed the first time around...

BTW, each of these titles accompanied the illustrations at the time of the leak.

1. The "Grave Robber"

In this illustration, we finally see the face of that shadowy figure holding Darth Vader's burnt helmet. The Grave Robber appears to be on the flight deck of an Imperial Star Destroyer and sports a metallic face and robotic right hand.

Keep in mind that this illustration was leaked over a month before we first saw Vader's burnt helmet in the first trailer.

3. Dark Night and Daisy Ridley

In this picture, we see a mysterious figure getting cozy with the Daisy Ridley's character Rey — whose resemblance to Princess Lea here is remarkable. But who is the shoulder on the far left?

5. Daisey Ridley and Boyega's Saber

In this illustration, that same blue lightsaber seems to be in the hands of John Boyega's character, Finn. Looking on appears to be Rey; the lovable droid named BB-8; and Lupita Nyong'o's character, Maz Kanata.

6. Chewbacca's Cybernetic Arm

In what's probably the most shocking illustration, it looks as if our beloved walking carpet has lost his right arm in combat and is now sporting a bionic appendage. However, in the film's most recent trailer we see Chewy raising both arms above his head in surrender. Is it possible that the wound was received later in the film?

9. Daisy Ridley

This illustration appears to show Rey entering a room to greet who looks to be Lupita Nyong'o's character, Maz Kanata. Perhaps this is the moment before we famously hear Nyong'o's line "I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people."

10. Montross

Here's an interesting character we've yet to see in any of The Force Awakens trailers or publicity materials. In an original draft of the Star Wars screenplay from Jan. 28, 1975, "Montross" was the science officer for Jabba the Hutt and friends with Han Solo, who, along with Chewbacca, helped Luke and his two droids defeat the Empire.

These illustrations also reveal many of the rides we'll see hurtling around the galaxy in the movie.
