5 Most "Earth-Like" Planets In The Galaxy!

Some where in the universe, there might just be another pale blue dot floating around in deep outer space, orbiting a sun-like star. And on that pale blue dot could be thousands of species of life and tons of water on the surface just like home! With the right distance from their host star, these planets could be holding the key to creating life...liquid water!

1. Kepler-22b

Kepler-22b is one of many exo-planets that the Kepler telescope has found. However, Kepler-22b happens to be orbiting a sun-like star in the "Goldilocks Zone" (The point where a planet isn't too close to it's star where temperatures soar over 300 degrees! And where the planet isn't too far away where everything freezes. The conditions are perfect! Earth is also orbiting in the Goldilocks zone). Astronomers and scientists think Kepler-22b might be a water-world where everything is just a gigantic ocean! Life on Kepler-22b (according to scientists and astronomers) would most likely consist of marine-type animals! How awesome is that?!

2. Gliese-581g

Gliese-581g (Once again, according to scientists and astronomers) could possibly be THE MOST habitable planet in the galaxy besides Earth because it is near the middle of the habitable zone (Just like Kepler-22b and Earth) of it's parent star. That means it could be able to sustain liquid water on its surface and could potentially host life similar to that on Earth. (However, the planet is expected to have temperatures between -35 to 15 degrees). I would never be able to live there, not without some type of heat source! If it is a rocky planet, favorable atmospheric conditions that are similar to the Earth's could help give the planet the presence of liquid water, a necessity for all known life, on its surface.

3. HD 40307g

"Super-Earth" HD 40307g (Don't ask me who comes up with these names because I have no clue!) orbits comfortably inside the habitable zone (Goldilocks Zone) of it's parent star. It lies about 42 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Pictor. It is so close that future telescopes may be able to observe and look at its surface! How awesome! It orbits its parent star about 56 million miles away, which is just over half of the Earth-sun distance of 93 million miles! Could we, someday, call this planet home? Hmmm.

4. Tau Ceti e

Tau Ceti e is found just 11.9 light-years from Earth! This world is a "super-Earth" at least 4.3 times as massive as Earth! Depending on its atmosphere, Tau Ceti e could be a mildly hot planet suitable for simple life! Imagine an Earth-like world filled with life only 11 light years away! Tau Ceti e could be Earth's "twin". That or a scorching fiery inferno type world like Venus!

5. Tau Ceti f

Tau Ceti f is also a Super-Earth candidate like its sibling Tau Ceti e, but it orbits close to the outer edge of it's host star's habitable zone (Goldilocks Zone) which means it's temperatures could actually be extremely cold! Colder than Antarctica has ever been possibly! Tau Ceti f is at least 6.6 times as massive as Earth and could be suitable for life, if its atmosphere traps significant amounts of heat like Earth does. Other wise, Tau Ceti f, well, is just another barren planet that we found in the possible millions/billions/trillions of solar systems in the vacuum of outer space
