We Tried Amazon's Top-Rated Fake Bangs And Here's What It Looks Like In Real Life

Hello, we are Farrah and Crystal! We both enjoy experimenting with our hair, but we haven't had the guts to make the chop and get bangs. So we decided to order Amazon's top-selling fake bangs by Reecho.

They come at a price of $5.99 each, which automatically made us a little skeptical. But the directions were simple. All you had to do was clip 'em on and style!

Here's what they look like straight outta the box:

For colors, Farrah selected "Medium Ash Brown" and Crystal selected "Black Brown."

We were both pretty shocked at how well they matched our natural hair color.

The process of putting on the bangs was surprisingly easy.

Although ~styling~ the bangs to look more natural took quite a bit more time.

We legitimately spent about 15 minutes each trying to perfect our fake bangs.

Crystal was pretty surprised at how well these worked.

CONFESSION TIME: I have actually had (real) bangs before, but back in like 2007,'s been A WHILE. And wearing these kinda made me want bangs again?! However, in the famous words of Cher Horowitz, these fake bangs were like a full-on Monet. Ahem, "It's like a painting, see? From far away, it's OK, but up close, it's a big old mess." I think these are good for fun or photos, but probably not an everyday look, not on me anyway. I'd rather just commit to getting real bangs...again. MAYBE.

Farrah thought they matched the color well, but they didn't quite look believable up close.

Like Crystal, I also rocked side bangs around the 2006 timeframe. (They were very fashionable, OK??) But I've never had blunt, straight bangs. It was fun to see what I looked like, but I don't think I have the face type to go full Zooey Deschanel. They also weren't super flattering up close, and you could really see where the fake fringe ended and the real hair began. HOWEVER, I was honestly so impressed with how well they matched both our hair color!

The side profile wasn't too terrible, either. In fact, it blended in pretty well with our real hair.

And you're probably wondering if they withstood a "shake" test? The answer: Yup!

These bangs won't be coming off unless someone snatches them off, ya know?

However, the downside was that it was REALLY noticeable if you looked at the top of our heads. But it was easy enough to hide with a hairband.

And the hairbands didn't look awful up close, either.

Overall, it's a pretty good deal but we're not sure we'd truly wear them out in real life!
