Leighton Meester Thinks The "Gossip Girl" Reboot Is "Really Awesome," And Isn't Ruling Out A Return As Blair Waldorf

"I've watched the new one. I do think it's really awesome."

Leighton Meester has played many roles in her career, but she'll always be known to us first as Blair Waldorf.

As eccentric and mean as the character could be at times, watching Blair was a part of our regular lives, and it'd be interesting to see how she's faring ten years later.

Thankfully, Leighton just gave us all a little glimmer of hope that Blair could return one day.

While Leighton previously said she hadn't received an offer to reprise her role in the Gossip Girl reboot, and her husband, Adam Brody, said they didn't necessarily plan to tune in when the show premiered last summer, she didn't entirely rule out making a cameo on the HBO Max show when asked about it.

Leighton recently told Fox 5 New York she thinks Gossip Girl 2.0 is "awesome," and she would potentially consider an offer to reprise her role as Blair.

"Yeah, I don't know — I mean, you know, I'm doing a junket today. This has been asked a couple times," she said, in response to a question asking whether or not Blair could someday return. "I'm going, 'I don't know maybe.'"

"I will say, you know … I've watched the new one. I do think it's really awesome," Leighton continued, noting that she's "happy for [the new cast]."

"I feel like they're doing a whole new thing," she shared. "And I don't think that we don't fit in but — or I can only speak for myself — I don't feel like I fit in."

Longtime Gossip Girl fans would likely beg to differ. What do you think?
