Kendall Jenner Claimed Proactiv Cleared Her Acne, But What About Her Family Dermatologist?

    The plot thickens...

    By now I'm sure you'll have heard about the furore surrounding Kendall Jenner's ~big announcement~ over the weekend.

    For several days, Kendall and Kris Jenner teased the fact that she was about to make a "raw" and emotional announcement that would help and inspire others.

    I’m so proud of my darling @KendallJenner for being so brave and vulnerable. Seeing you share her most raw story in order to make a positive impact for so many people and help foster a positive dialogue is a testament to the incredible woman you’ve become.

    People immediately began speculating as to what the announcement would be, with theories spanning everything from an eating disorder to a recounting of sexual assault.

    However, the announcement ended up being that Kendall was the new spokesperson for anti-acne skincare brand, Proactiv.

    It seemed a good fit for Kendall, since she's spoken in the past about how her acne caused her so much social anxiety that she felt like an outcast. However, people were not happy and branded the announcement an "anti-climax."

    And in the new promotional advert which accompanied the big announcement, Kendall revealed that Proactiv was the only product that "cleared" her skin.

    However, hours after her announcement, an interview with Kylie Jenner from 2015 resurfaced and it tells a very different story.

    In an interview about her skincare regime, Kylie claimed that her family's dermatologist, Christie Kidd, had "cured" Kendall's acne so effectively, Kylie decided to go and see her too.

    And although Kendall was a little more vague when she shared her acne story on her app in 2015, she did reveal that it had taken "years" of working with her "incredible dermatologist" for her skin to clear up.

    In fact, Christie herself gave an interview back in March last year during which she revealed the products that she used on Kendall's skin — none of which are available to the public since they were all developed by her.

    After seeing the interview, people had thoughts.

    @drugproblem @BeeBabs Shocked. But not suprised 😉

    @drugproblem @KendallJenner don't you just hate it when your family dermatologist in beverly hills treats your supermodel sister but not you? so real! so relatable!

    However, it is worth pointing out that Kendall may well have incorporated Proactiv products alongside the ones Christie uses.

    So perhaps everyone just needs to chill.

    When contacted for comment, a spokesperson for Kendall said that she used the word "cleared," not "cured" in the Proactiv advert.
