If you've been following the drama of Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler's divorce, I'm sure you'll have heard about her ex-best friend, Kelly Henderson. If not, allow me to fill you in.
Kelly and Kristin had been BFFs for seven years when their friendship fell apart after Kelly was accused of having an affair with Jay in 2019.
The rumours started during season 2 of Very Cavallari, when hundreds of viewers commented about the relationship between Jay and Kelly online. Although all parties denied the affair, Kristin was hurt over the way Kelly handled the rumours.
“When Season 2 was airing, there was a lot of talk on social media about Jay and Kelly having an affair,” Kristin explained during the premiere of Season 3 of Very Cavallari.
Kristin went on to say she’d been hurt by Kelly continuing to mention Jay on social media despite the rampant speculation over their relationship.
After reaching out to Kelly in a bid to resolve their issues, Kristin claimed she was repeatedly ignored and eventually ceased contact altogether with her former friend.
Well, fast-forward to one week after Kristin and Jay announced their divorce and Kelly was the subject of controversy again — this time for posting this photo of herself with a ~mystery man~.
Fans of Kristin quickly noticed that the man in the photo was wearing a beaded bracelet similar to ones worn by Jay in the past. And they flooded Kelly's comments to ask whether she was hanging out with Kristin's ex-husband.
In fact, the speculation became so intense that a source close to the former couple eventually denied that the man in the photo was Jay, claiming the post was an "attempt to gain attention and followers" by Kelly.
Well, Kelly has now finally addressed the whole situation, denying that she played any part in Kristin and Jay's divorce.
"I'm just gonna go ahead and put this out there," she said during the All's Fair podcast, "There was never an affair, I had nothing to do with their divorce and I am not dating Jay Cutler."
"We're not really in touch anymore," she added. "We had a little bit of a falling out last year, so I've kind of gotten some space from both of them."
Kelly went on to say that while she wishes them both well, she hasn't been in contact with either Kristin or Jay since they announced their divorce.
